etcswjoe Posted January 7, 2013 #2176 Posted January 7, 2013 Saw one early this morning but all you could see in the picture would have been it's mast lights.
ragtop69gs Posted January 10, 2013 #2177 Posted January 10, 2013 I may get lucky and get out for a ride Saturday if friday's rains wash the salt off the roads and they dry up. Shipping in the area is down for the winter
dynodon Posted February 10, 2013 #2178 Posted February 10, 2013 Wow, things have really slowed down. My Wing has been in the shop the last two weeks trying to track down a rear brake that is dragging. Stuff is moving along the Illinois, but maybe we should set a new easy target to get things moving again? Hey you warm weather types, get out and find stuff!
Panjandrum Posted February 11, 2013 #2179 Posted February 11, 2013 Wow, things have really slowed down. My Wing has been in the shop the last two weeks trying to track down a rear brake that is dragging. Stuff is moving along the Illinois, but maybe we should set a new easy target to get things moving again? Hey you warm weather types, get out and find stuff! Is a tugboat a difficult target? Apart from the Southern US and anywhere south of the equator, it has not been riding weather. Surely there are tugs in Australia!? Even here on the Left Coast it has been too crappy to ride... until yesterday, which was GLORIOUS... and I had a Birthday Party so the bike stayed wrapped up. And it's raining again today. I agree, it would be nice to get things moving again. Snowdrops are flowering in my garden, so soon, very soon! Is it ok to go after your own target?
dynodon Posted February 11, 2013 #2180 Posted February 11, 2013 Chris, I am not the "decider" but I don't think that getting your own target has been done in the past, but resetting the target by the one that originally set it, is done a lot when things slow down. I agree that a tug isn't a particularly hard target, and you are right, weather hasn't been good for a lot of the country this winter. Still those in warmer climes should be able to get out and ride. I look forward to getting my bike back, but if it is nice enough, I will take the wife's Shadow Ace Tour out and look for a tug soon! Hope everyone is having a good year so far.
etcswjoe Posted February 11, 2013 #2181 Posted February 11, 2013 I see them all day at work but I cannot take pictures where I am at I do a creative idea I may do when the rain stops.
muffinman Posted March 8, 2013 #2182 Posted March 8, 2013 well here is my shot of a sound side tug boat 40 degrees outside winds blowing at 30mph and I was trespassing so all I could get was the top of the tower what do you think will it do
dynodon Posted March 8, 2013 #2184 Posted March 8, 2013 Good job, and we can provide an alibi if you need one! What is next?
Panjandrum Posted March 8, 2013 #2185 Posted March 8, 2013 Yaaay! I hope it was winter weather and not the nature of the target that took so long to find one. What's next. It is riding weather here... finally!
muffinman Posted March 8, 2013 #2186 Posted March 8, 2013 How about this You your bike and a statue of a famous or historical person Jeff
playboy Posted March 10, 2013 #2188 Posted March 10, 2013 Here you go: Hey I know exactly where that's at.
dynodon Posted March 11, 2013 #2189 Posted March 11, 2013 Looks good! And quick too. temps in the 50's here today but heavy rain most of the day. But that means when it dries out, all the salt will be gone. So I may be able to get the Wing back out this coming week. Not that I or it would melt in rain, but hey, I just got the bike cleaned up!
etcswjoe Posted March 11, 2013 #2190 Posted March 11, 2013 Next Target You, your bike and sometype of warning siren, air raid, hurricane, tornado, fire, nuclear, etc..... Target List https://docs.google.com/document/d/1t_moMH00JRPDBZIf3ouVk2aAGYlgxPOeHS88adT93jU/edit?usp=sharing
dynodon Posted March 11, 2013 #2191 Posted March 11, 2013 Got one a 1/4 mile from my house but I won't use that one, be too easy.
muffinman Posted March 15, 2013 #2192 Posted March 15, 2013 here is a volunteer fire department siren on the hose drying rack Jeff
etcswjoe Posted March 15, 2013 #2193 Posted March 15, 2013 here is a volunteer fire department siren on the hose drying rack Jeff Cool whats next ?
muffinman Posted March 17, 2013 #2194 Posted March 17, 2013 Here is the next target You your bike and a girl scout troup or a girl scout selling cookies.
Panjandrum Posted March 18, 2013 #2195 Posted March 18, 2013 I like the target, and in a previous age, I would have gone for it. However, in today's nervous world, I do not take random shots of children without first getting permission from a parent or adult. Just saying... be careful!
Brake Pad Posted March 18, 2013 #2196 Posted March 18, 2013 I like the target, and in a previous age, I would have gone for it. However, in today's nervous world, I do not take random shots of children without first getting permission from a parent or adult. Just saying... be careful! So Much for the PG rating.....
dynodon Posted March 31, 2013 #2197 Posted March 31, 2013 Maybe its time to pick a new target, I also would be a bit nervous trying to get a troupe of Girl Scouts to pose for a picture with a motorcycle. Maybe someone with a daughter in the scouts might get this, but everyone else is probably out of the running. Consider a new target.
etcswjoe Posted April 5, 2013 #2198 Posted April 5, 2013 (edited) Looks like Spring may actually be here soon so we are reseting the target to: You,your bike and a Dairy/Creamery. I have Muffinman's blessing on changing the target to keep things moving. http://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/02/d7/49/92/calabash-creamery.jpg I figured as nice of a weekend as it was someone would have gotten this.
