Scooter Bob Posted February 19, 2011 #1176 Posted February 19, 2011 I have no leads for the next target, but that is what google is for. Cheers, Dan I was out that way last spring. Just head east or west of the DC mess and get out into the countryside, and you're bound to find one. Later, Scooter Bob The current target is... You and your bike and a water tower from a town other than where you live. Bonus points for an old steel one. by Scooter Bob
painterman67 Posted February 20, 2011 #1177 Posted February 20, 2011 the wife and I are goping riding today so now Ill have to pick a new destination. We had planned on heading up a historical/scenic highway here 2 towns over(gibsonville) to see the local historical site and gets pics in front of the civil war general( I think hes a general) mounted on horse back in bronze. May still go as we pass 3 old metal water towers between here and there. David
DanOh Posted February 20, 2011 #1178 Posted February 20, 2011 The current target is... You and your bike and a water tower from a town other than where you live. Bonus points for an old steel one. by Scooter Bob We went for a shortish ride today. This first picture is of a water tower in my home town, but we thought it was really cool so we stopped for a picture anyways. The second picture is of a your run of the mill tower in Damascus MD. Scooter Bob Posted February 20, 2011 #1181 Posted February 20, 2011 My daughter told me we would get back an someone would have just posted. Well here are our pics. And not even an hour late. Bummer:doh: Nice pics though, Thanks for posting! Now we'll have to see what Painterman67 comes back with a little late too. Later, Scooter Bob Still waiting to hear what the next target will be...But I won't be getting it, just got another snowstorm today.
DanOh Posted February 20, 2011 #1182 Posted February 20, 2011 We have a new WINNER!!! So DanOh, what's the next target?? Good Job, Scooter Bob This idea is courtesy of the spouse; You and your bike in front of an old fashion barbershop complete with the white and red pole out front. Cheers, Dan

David Ps I just got a new tire on fri so anything for a ride as I havent had a long ride since sept when the clutch went out.
etcswjoe Posted February 20, 2011 #1184 Posted February 20, 2011 Time to hit all the little towns around here. This one may be a challenge.
dynodon Posted February 21, 2011 #1185 Posted February 21, 2011 Excellent! New players and some fast action. Thanks everyone for firing up this game again. Lots of old small towns in my area, but wet/snow today, to it will be Tues/Wed before I can get out again. The hunt is on!
etcswjoe Posted February 21, 2011 #1186 Posted February 21, 2011 Had a good ride :12101:today at least a dozen barbershops with poles within 25 miles, wound up driving 60 to find one:detective: out side of the limit. Est in 1965 so it is close to old fashioned :grandma:and does have a pole. My daughter took the pics.
SMSgt Posted February 21, 2011 #1187 Posted February 21, 2011 The wife and I dang near froze to death getting this so you're going to see it anyway. It was a fun ride though.
Scooter Bob Posted February 21, 2011 #1188 Posted February 21, 2011 Nice Pics, both of you. T-shirt and Blue Jeans weather in SC?? I had to have all my snowmobile gear on Saturday. I'm soooo Jealous. So, Joe, what 's the next target I can look for in a week or so after this snow and ice gets off the roads?? Later, Scooter Bob
etcswjoe Posted February 21, 2011 #1189 Posted February 21, 2011 Nice Pics, both of you. T-shirt and Blue Jeans weather in SC?? I had to have all my snowmobile gear on Saturday. I'm soooo Jealous. So, Joe, what 's the next target I can look for in a week or so after this snow and ice gets off the roads?? Later, Scooter Bob Started out this morning and it was 62 at 7:00 am so the jackets came off quick. This one is my daughters idea: You and the bike in front of a museum and extra points if you are eating ice cream.
dynodon Posted February 21, 2011 #1190 Posted February 21, 2011 SMSgt, great pic, thanks for posting. Does it count if it is a museum in planning? Peoria is trying to build a big downtown museum, but right now it is a hole in the ground! OK Nice target.
royalstar09 Posted February 22, 2011 #1191 Posted February 22, 2011 I have one 10 miles away and its raining
SMSgt Posted February 22, 2011 #1192 Posted February 22, 2011 Ice cream are you crazy man it's friggen freezing out there. I'm lucky just to get the scoot out of the garage. I'm heading to Phoenix to the race this weekend so I will be able to thaw out. I'm going to go the the Cheese Cake Factory and stuff myself with ice cream. I'm sure I'll drive past a museum or two does that count?:rotf:
dynodon Posted February 22, 2011 #1193 Posted February 22, 2011 SMsgt, well, after you eat the cheescake and Ice cream, I don't want to see it....again....when you find the museum. Just the building will do nicely!
etcswjoe Posted February 22, 2011 #1194 Posted February 22, 2011 Ok, maybe Ice Cream was not such a good idea , however knowing some of the folks on the sites affection for Dairy Queen I thought it might boost Intrest. :ICshocked:
dynodon Posted February 23, 2011 #1195 Posted February 23, 2011 Joe, we are just kidding you about the ice cream! The typical motorcycle enthusiast knows no temperature or weather too cold or messy for ice cream! Don
DanOh Posted February 26, 2011 #1196 Posted February 26, 2011 You and the bike in front of a museum and extra points if you are eating ice cream. Hey all, this is an extra special bonus for me. Finally picked up my 02 Venture today and went for a long ride to nowhere in particular. My wife spotted this little museum which was totally unexpected. So here is my first day with new bike scavenger hunt picture. Cheers, Dan http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z351/danzoom/BrunswickRailroadMuesum.jpg
dynodon Posted February 26, 2011 #1197 Posted February 26, 2011 Nice bike! but no ice cream? Well, I guess we can excuse that and give you a great big BONUS for the new bike. What is the Brunswick Museum? anything to do with Bowling or old Harley's? So what is the new target?
DanOh Posted February 26, 2011 #1198 Posted February 26, 2011 You, your bike and a waterfall. Happy Hunting. Dan.
etcswjoe Posted February 27, 2011 #1199 Posted February 27, 2011 Great pic and nice looking bike. Model or full scale railroad museum? My bike is down for awhile so no waterfalls for me Happy hunting all.
dynodon Posted February 27, 2011 #1200 Posted February 27, 2011 Not many waterfalls in corn country, so I guess it is up to those in the mountain states to get this one!
