Just a word of caution when moving your bike when it is cold outside

I wanted to work in my garage on my project bike, so I opened the garage door and moved my Goldwing outside. As I pulled (rolled) it backwards out of the garage, I used my hip to help balance the bike.

Once I got it out in the drive away from the garage door, I put it on its kick stand.

THAT is when I noticed the seat has a hole in it....The seat was cold and being an older 2002 model bike, the seat basically "cracked" where I was resting the bike on my hip.

SO........ I guess what I am trying to pass on here is hoping my mistake may help someone out there to NOT do what I did... .... you might want to wait until the weather warms that seat up a little or just don't put your hip (or butt) on the seat when it is cold.

:sign yeah that::sign yeah that:

In Alabama.......

or does Honda use that cheap of plastic.....

I'm just wondering if something else damaged the seat and you just noticed it now.

My 28 year old 1st gen seat holds up just fine to me sitting on it and making motorcycle noises even in sub zero temps.

Yes bad case of PMS.......

My dash and seats cracked on my Opel Manta Rallye in Denver one winter in 1973. Went from cold to warm and back to cold in 24 hours...cracking the interior nicely. Doesn't surprise me our bikes can have that problem...

Sad to hear!
