cabreco Posted January 15, 2015 #1 Posted January 15, 2015 Well after talking to several members who have given their unanimous endorsement, My 84's seat is on it's way to Rick Butler for modding! I honestly don't know what I would do with my Venture if not for the members here. BEST $12 buck a year I EVER spend. Thank you all for you help!~ Andy
Flyinfool Posted January 15, 2015 #2 Posted January 15, 2015 Cool I for one will be waiting on your report. I have been thinking of doing the same thing to mine.
videoarizona Posted January 15, 2015 #3 Posted January 15, 2015 Me three. Rick modified my VStar 950T seat and it's a huge difference! I'm just waiting for the youngest to stop spending my $$.... "hey honey..it's my turn!"
Freebird Posted January 15, 2015 #4 Posted January 15, 2015 My seat is headed to Rick this weekend also. Looks like he is going to be busy.
cabreco Posted January 16, 2015 Author #5 Posted January 16, 2015 Absolutely! As many on here know I kinda go overboard on being detail oriented LoL I will definitely post a report on the results of the mod!
flyday58 Posted January 19, 2015 #6 Posted January 19, 2015 A little history, or thread link for us J-C-Ls? Thanks. Richard
cabreco Posted January 28, 2015 Author #7 Posted January 28, 2015 So my seat should be coming home soon. (I asked Rick not to rush) So once it's back I will post a review, not only from me but from the wife's perspective.
cabreco Posted February 12, 2015 Author #8 Posted February 12, 2015 Ok so The seat arrived today. VERY Nice job! When I installed it & sat on the bike I immediately saw the ride height difference. I put her up on the center stand & sat down, it was very comfortable, the seat cradled me. I put my feet up on the highway bar pegs & I did not feel the tightness in my back that I felt with the original seat. Now mind you some may say it could all be in my head but I did a side by side comparison as I have an 83 parts Venture which still has the unaltered OEM seat on it, & it is DEFINITELY better. The real test of course will be on 4+ hour rides. The Mrs. & I have some trips planned for this spring & summer & I will post my commentary on how it does on a long haul! All in all I'm VERY happy with it! & the cost was inexpensive compared to buying a Corbin or a Russell seat! So to anyone thinking about it - DO IT!
Freebird Posted February 12, 2015 #9 Posted February 12, 2015 I got my Road Glide seat back from Rick also. It looks great and I think it will be very comfortable but I guess it will be at least a few more weeks before I can try it out. More snow this morning.
