Venturous Randy Posted December 29, 2014 #1 Posted December 29, 2014 On the 15th I ordered an ignition switch for my John Deere lawn tractor and the following is the current tracking info. You have to start at the bottom of the list and go up to see where it has been. I hope it gets here by spring. And they wonder why people don't use the postal service. Skid Posted December 29, 2014 #2 Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) Looks a few rounds trips before it gets there. At least it's in the right state. And they say nothing runs like a Deere Edited December 29, 2014 by Skid
djh3 Posted December 29, 2014 #3 Posted December 29, 2014 LOL A fellow RSV owner bought one of my by-pass relays. I am in Fla and he in Wisconson. So I put his part in the mail. It goes across Fla, up to Wi. Then to NJ then back to Wi at least once before the fellow got it. I guess I was just glad I was not paying by the mile.
ragtop69gs Posted December 29, 2014 #4 Posted December 29, 2014 I've sent many packages using USPS priority mail and have never had that happen. Only twice have they ever lost a package coming to me, and both of those were from the same sender, sending bulky items in bubble envelopes.
jonesy Posted December 29, 2014 #5 Posted December 29, 2014 The worst are the ones that go fed-ex then get handed over to the post office. They often go back to fed ex , before getting delivered
ricksbike Posted December 29, 2014 #6 Posted December 29, 2014 I seem to have the same kind of problem here in Idaho--I ordered a part for sks rifle from China.it went halfway around the world and my local post office lost it between their loading dock and my PO box,all of about 100 feet.Yippy for USPS.

That's interesting, I ordered something that came from China about the same time. I got it about a week ago. RandyA
steamer Posted December 29, 2014 #8 Posted December 29, 2014 I know this is about UPS, but I gotta ask. Why didn't you just go to your local JD dealer and pick one up? They have most parts in stock and if not they can get them in about 2 days.
naturbar Posted December 29, 2014 #9 Posted December 29, 2014 Maybe they shipped the ignition switch in the "OFF" position...
bill in mn Posted December 29, 2014 #10 Posted December 29, 2014 Couple of things, It seems to be gaining momentum and that's a good thing. The USPS gets so few packages they spread the work around so everyone looks busy.
Brake Pad Posted December 30, 2014 #11 Posted December 30, 2014 you should have just given it to one of us, we'd get it there faster ( Post 3300 )
cowpuc Posted December 30, 2014 #12 Posted December 30, 2014 File a claim with JD for sending you a used part!!! Suckers got more miles on it than a run away 1st Gen lost out in the middle of Western Montana!!
Hazenson Posted December 30, 2014 #13 Posted December 30, 2014 Funny sometimes Fed ex will drop stuff off here and we end up delivering it for them. (UPS) I ve been waiting for a shirt my wife ordered for me- supposally was coming Fed Ex- and It was in the mail box today delivered by usps.
jonesy Posted December 30, 2014 #14 Posted December 30, 2014 Funny sometimes Fed ex will drop stuff off here and we end up delivering it for them. (UPS) I ve been waiting for a shirt my wife ordered for me- supposally was coming Fed Ex- and It was in the mail box today delivered by usps. theres a special class at fed-ex that they bring it to central spot, then transfer it to USPS, for them to deliver to house.
Venturous Randy Posted December 31, 2014 Author #15 Posted December 31, 2014 According to the shipper, who went back to her post office, it appears the clerk there typed in 37304 rather than 37604, which is my zip. The package is back in Chattanooga as of this morning. There is a note on the tracking about it being a mis-shipment and you think someone would look at the actual address. Flyinfool Posted December 31, 2014 #17 Posted December 31, 2014 I have had packages shipped from China to Wisconsin. The package made it from China to our loading dock faster than it made if from the loading dock to my desk.
MiCarl Posted December 31, 2014 #18 Posted December 31, 2014 I've got one coming too. Supposed to be here today (according to their tracking). Not though, at the sort facility South of town. It appears that it decided to spend an extra night in Tampa. Can't say I blame it.....
GAWildKat Posted December 31, 2014 #19 Posted December 31, 2014 I have a pkg coming from orlando, it decided to head to mobile before coming here, might get here next yr.....sometime
MiCarl Posted December 31, 2014 #20 Posted December 31, 2014 I grew up outside Akron, OH and went to school in Cincinnati. Periodically mom would send care packages. They typically took about 3 days. She had one that was rush so she paid extra for priority shipping. It took 4 days. When she asked about that they told her it was because all the priority packages went to Pittsburgh to their new sorting facility......
Venturous Randy Posted January 1, 2015 Author #21 Posted January 1, 2015 (edited) The shipper from Delaware talked to the post office lady in Sale Creek, TN and she found the package and marked out the bar code, so now I guess someone will have to look at the address. jonesy Posted January 1, 2015 #22 Posted January 1, 2015 I just got one from OK. to MA., guy in OK. put the wrong city and state on package, but the right zip code, got it in 2 days with USPS. Miracles happen now and then.

Venturous Randy Posted January 2, 2015 Author #24 Posted January 2, 2015 Well now you've gone and took all the fun out of watching where it will go next Hey, it ain't here yet. RandyA
Jayceesfolly Posted January 2, 2015 #25 Posted January 2, 2015 And the idiots that run the USPS can't figure out why they are going broke. Because you don't offer a decent service for the money and if you don't, someone else will eat your lunch. In the service industry, you have to prove yourself on every single transaction, every day and the USPS hasn't been doing that for years.
