I am one of those that is spending Christmas Eve at work (surfing the web) while the rest of my family is eating and laughing and opening presents.

But at least I was mean enough to not deliver my stuff ahead of time. All of those that are getting stuff from me will have to wait until I am there.

I'm the boss so I can work or close up and spend the day with the in-laws (Christmas day with the in-laws is mandatory).

I decided I had too much work to spend 2 days with the in-laws.:whistling:

I've 3 days paid time off to use up, so I'm taking today, Friday and New years Eve off.

I generally don't work holidays, nor do I get paid for them. And only one week vacation to boot, but I can't complain.

I can take time off without pay whenever I want, (even on short notice) and make a decent buck.

This is the first year in 5 years that I will get to spend the afternoon and evening at home, All I had to do this morning was take a ride in the truck and sand the hills and then home for the rest of the day.

Not me because I'm retired. Although the State gives the state employees off a half day on Christmas Eve.

I work for Boeing the past 26 years. We normally get the 24th thru Jan 1 off, unless one works in a group that is behind schedule. I have at times worked right thru the holiday break.

For all of US that are working holidays just because the boss is a jacka$$. You have my sympathy.

For those of you that are working holidays just for the overtime pay, Congratulations, buy more toys.
