pbjman Posted December 13, 2014 Share #2 Posted December 13, 2014 I think you'll need two of those and two of these (joint, carburetor 2) 4XY-13596-01-00 YAMAHA JOINT, CARBURETOR
Yammer Dan Posted December 13, 2014 Share #3 Posted December 13, 2014 The cracks won't leak. Paint them with liquid tape if the cracks bother you.

I spent the $ to replace mine under the assumption they were leaking. When I got them off I found none of the cracks were all the way through. They did look like they were. Condor Posted December 13, 2014 Share #5 Posted December 13, 2014 The 1stGen joints have a metal sleeve sandwiched in the joint wall. The 2ndGens have a plastic liner on the inside of the joint except for that portion under the clamps. I replaced the '99's because joint cracks started to open up at the top when the clamps were tightened. In my mind they could cause a vacuum leak, so went ahead and replaced them for peace of mind... Think I'm going to replace all four of both. I'm only replacing them because they are cracked all the way tthrough
