Big Auggie Posted December 8, 2014 #1 Posted December 8, 2014 So, I only have to grease the front spline on the drive shaft as the rear is lubed by the final drive grease/oil? (I'm talking about my '89 Venture)
Prairiehammer Posted December 8, 2014 #2 Posted December 8, 2014 For a post 1986 XVZ13, that is correct.
Pegasus1300 Posted December 8, 2014 #3 Posted December 8, 2014 that actually applies to 86s as well. The final drive oil lubes the rear splines
Prairiehammer Posted December 8, 2014 #4 Posted December 8, 2014 Yes. I guess using the phrase 'post 1986' might unintentionally indicate that 1986 were not included. Perhaps 'post 1985' would be more accurate? Or '1986 and later'.
Big Auggie Posted December 10, 2014 Author #5 Posted December 10, 2014 Great, I was hoping I could start putting her back together without tearing into it any further! Supposed to be in upper 40's later this week in Wisconsin, so I see a short run on Old Blue in my future.
Karaboo Posted December 11, 2014 #6 Posted December 11, 2014 If you take the bike out, keep in mind the roads are full of salt and sand. No fun, really.
