Well roughly 18 months ago I put the Blonde on the road. She had 44K on her at the time yesterday morning she turned 137K so I decided to take her off the road till all the little things like fork seals, exhuast leaks, oil leaks.ect fixed.

I know some of you are gonna say its about time and to this I want to say.She still runs strong and is VERY reliable and there is nothing wrong with her that concerns me.That being said I would not hesitate to jump on her and ride accross country. Its just that I want to get her back in prime condition. She deserves it for all the milages we have racked up together.

Go ahead and make your comments but NO I am not going to get a 2nd gen I am going to wait till I get her finished and ready for the road.

And I thought I ride alot. My hat's off to ya!

In 2002, a day after I bought my Millenium (used), I went to the Honda Hoot in Knoxville.

I met a retired man at the Yamaha tent who really rode a lot. I think the story went like this:

He had bought a new 1999 and rode it 200,000 miles. Contacted Yamaha and they took it back, and for advertisement I guess, gave him another new one. Now, this was like June 12th, 2002, and he already had 140,000 on that one. CRAZY STUFF!

I did notice that he walked pretty bowl-legged, like he retired from bull riding. And he was't married. Well, I guess he was married to the bike.

Glad you're finally following my lead, Jeff!!!!!! LOL You put alot more miles on Blondie than I got to put on the future "Red Rocket", but I decided that I would rather take the time now to go thru her than to put up with a 2nd genners ribbing if I should happen to break down sometime. I know that won't happen, because she already brought me back 125 miles while she was crippled with no stator, overheating and a battery running down. I doubt if one of those boys with the "newer" bikes could lay claim to that! Good luck, I know you won't have to ask questions like the rest of us!!!!!!

BTW, paint her pink!!!!!!!!

Jeff, i gotta say you just frightened me in first Place.

The Term you used ... retired ... is in Fact a wrong Term.

You should have said "I temporarily grounded the Blonde because of Maintenance Issues"

Jeff that must be the reason you smell so good, you smell like fresh North Carolina air.

Hope you get it taken care of very soon. (Referring to the Blonde)

Now this doesn't sound like retirement, this sounds like she's headed to the spa for some relaxation, a makeover, some body masages with exotic oils, and just to recover from some hard work before she's back at it again..... What woman wouldn't want to spend some time doing just that..... What a lucky Blond

Mini - don't you want to get the same treatmentment too!
