djh3 Posted November 25, 2014 #1 Posted November 25, 2014 I saw an article on YAHOO news yesterday about a computer virus. So wanting to be up on possible problems I started to read up on it. Well it seems that somehow the Chinese maker of some sort of vapor smoker E-cig has figured out how to hack up your computer or electronic devices by the E-cig using your USB port. Now ain't that a kick. I personally have no worries, but I figure there may be some folks on here trying to kick the tobacco habit with these devices.
naturbar Posted November 26, 2014 #2 Posted November 26, 2014 " E-cig using your USB port " = giving your computer E-cancer ! Ain't technology wonderful......
djh3 Posted November 26, 2014 Author #3 Posted November 26, 2014 LOL too funny. It just amazes me the amount of work some people go thru to cause someone else heart ache. These creeps come up with virus to lock up your computer unless you pay a ransome, web sites download crap you dont know about and then are willing to sell you a "fix" for the trouble they installed.
Eck Posted November 26, 2014 #4 Posted November 26, 2014 Thanks for the heads up.. Glad I quit smoking years ago... Yesterday I was searching for a mini bike tail light assembly on Google. I came across a heck of a deal for $18.00 for the whole light assembly including turn signals all mounted on a base. I started to fill out the information to purchase it and realized I would be ordering it from CHINA. To complete the order they wanted my email address, phone number and of course my credit card info.............I stopped right there and deleted my order. I never filled out the information section. It was to good to be true...... Im sure they would have had a hay-day with my credit card info and my cell phone number...........
