HD stator / RR is it worth it?

Is it worth the effort installing a HD stator and voltage regulator?

 

Have seen quite a few instances where it didn't work out.

 

Need as I purchased Gerbing heated gear .

 

Or

 

can I reduce my voltage draw sufficiently by going to Led?

Uhhhh, yes, and yes!

 

HO stators have a shorter life than standard ones, and there are good and bad aftermarket R/R's out there, but if you get it right you will have plenty of reserve power!

 

 

Switching entirely to LED lights will save more than enough power for your heated gear...

I was one of the ones that had bad luck with the "High Output" ones so I went the LED route, headlight, taillight etc.
