Will my older unit fit in that nice looking case?

 

Yes, it will fit if it has the standard Arduino Uno or a recommended clone board underneath. Other clone boards are supposed to be exactly the same but I suspect they vary some. Even so the case is designed to allow some tolerence. PM me a picture of yours. Thanks, Jeff.

I wonder if you could count the vacuum pulses from one of the sensors to get a tach reading??? that way you do not have to tap into the bike electrics anywhere or need an additional input. Like if you are doing a 2nd gen where there ain't no tach. (hey they had to make a tough choice tach or cassette......)

 

Jeff - that's a quote from you way back in 2012 when I first posted this project. That's exactly what it does now, after many false starts. I count the pulses in all the sensors and do the math. It turned out to be more complicated than I thought, but it works well now. Thanks for the nudge. Here is what it looked like then...

Do you have a price and availability on the Digital Carb Sync complete and in the 3-D printed case?

 

This sure would be more convenient than the Morgan Carb Tune Pro. I love the Carb Tune, but it's a bit bulky and cumbersome for packing.

Love it! Just found this thread - read it, and wow. If you do get this going with a snazzy case let me know how much to send you to ship one to Wisconsin. This looks amazing. Kudos for the hard work and ingenuity.

Everything else is soldered on by hand using a soldering iron. The finished board before mounting the LCD screen. The parts. The other board hand soldered with 6 sensors for a Valkyrie, with a removable LCD screen. My board layout guy Jenner Hanni helped a lot to get this all in shape.

Thanks. I do sell downloadable easy-to-build plans over at my site digitalcarbsync.com. I have circuit boards for those who want to skip that step. I have a couple of white nylon case prototypes on hand, but the 3-D printing cost is high. I generally do not sell pre-built units although I do have a 6-cylinder unit on hand that can be used for any engine. I favor the build your own tools idea a lot. I used mine without a case for years. You can store it in any box for travel.

I'm going to try the wooden unit. I've got packing material...so I can customize it for a good fit.

I like wood....although the plastic printing idea is cool...for sure.

I just sent a pair of boards to a guy in Sweden. That adds to the list of United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, Lithuania, New Zealand, Philippines, Denmark, France. Portugal, Belgium as countries I have sold to in the last year or so. Plus the USA.

 

Where is Lithuania? Now I know.

 

I do no advertising. It has been discussed a bit on this forum. I have an old school website but it is not promoted on Google or Facebook.

 

I just wanted to build something for myself to use. It's kind of cool that you can make a little gizmo in your shop, and it will sell all over the world, without much effort, basically for no cost.

 

Made in USA!

I just find your GitHub Digital Carb Sync project and I have tried to realize it with my components here. But I would need your electrical diagram, as I am not sure how to connect all together. Maybe I did not look at the right place but I couldn't find it...

Would you like to share it please ? My old R100S would love to be tuned with it !

Head on over to digitalcarbsync.com. The downloadable build package has everything you will need. The board layout files are essentially a wiring diagram if you really are going that way. Good luck.

Thank you for your fast answer !

To be clear, I have already an Arduino Uno, a display, 2 sensors. I don't need any printed board. As I may use it only once, I will do a temporary cabling on my breadboard.

Actually, I thought my 17 years old son could manage the program but he does not have the skill and the time to do it... :rolleyes:

 

Will your package be what I need and is it the version with the RPM indication ?

Hmmm. Well, first, be sure to subscribe to Venturerider. The info and help here is amazing. Best $12 ever.

 

The downloadable build package makes it easy to make the boards, solder on the components, load the software, and sync your carbs. I also sell the circuit boards on the site if you want to skip making that part.

 

The current version has the RPM feature. The package ships with 4 and 6 cylinder versions ready to load. There is a setting in the software for the number of cylinders would have be set to 2 and compiled before loading.

 

You can hack something together and get it to work. I did - that's where all this came from. I started with a box of junkyard auto parts and a breadboard. It was a fun learning project. But that's on you. I won't promise that what you build will work with my software.

Hello,

I have bought the package and wanted to start working on it but I could not find the .INO program. I know I can upload the HEX file with XLoader to my Arduino but how can I do if I want to modify it ?
