XV1100SE Posted November 19, 2014 #1 Posted November 19, 2014 Buffalo and area has had 4' to 6' (that's FEET) of snow already this winter. We've only got 3" to 4" (inches) of snow in our area (the so called "Great White North"). Stay safe whether driving or shoveling the stuff !
Wizard765 Posted November 19, 2014 #2 Posted November 19, 2014 Hey Bongobobny.. I know you are south of Buffalo a bit but wondering how you are making out with the snow? How much have you gotten so far? AND BIG TOM? You are closer and more or less in it's path.. Are you OK?
bongobobny Posted November 19, 2014 #3 Posted November 19, 2014 We got a whole 2 inches maybe! Shhhh, don't tell Big Tom, he's buried! The snow band was 27 miles wide and we just had the very edge here. Go a few miles north and it's a different story...
Skid Posted November 19, 2014 #4 Posted November 19, 2014 No Fair! We didn't even get enough to go sleigh riding here
mm482 Posted November 19, 2014 #5 Posted November 19, 2014 I need to go for a ride before Big Tom starts shipping it south.
jonesy Posted November 19, 2014 #6 Posted November 19, 2014 Wait until Big Tom gets ahold of you guys, hes kind of busy right now, making snow angels.
cowpuc Posted November 19, 2014 #7 Posted November 19, 2014 Wait until Big Tom gets ahold of you guys, hes kind of busy right now, making snow angels. Yeaaa,, but from what I have heard of Big Tom, those 's probably have the distinct impression of a Banana Nut  in each hand Thinking of you Big Tom, be safe out there!! Puc
bongobobny Posted November 19, 2014 #8 Posted November 19, 2014 Saw a brigade of snow plows heading north from here a couple of hours ago...

XV1100SE Posted November 19, 2014 Author #10 Posted November 19, 2014 I don't think we have to worry about Tom catching us....door to his place is buried in snow (until Spring - which right now looks like June next year !)
XV1100SE Posted November 20, 2014 Author #11 Posted November 20, 2014 Just heard on CNN that 25% of the Buffalo area received up to 67" of snow over the past couple days. Another 20-30" are expected in the next day or two. Biggest snow storm in 40 years. A years worth of snow in 4 days. In 75% of the city.... only a couple inches fell. South Buffalo (only) has a travel ban and a state of emergency. Did this target Tom ?
thecount Posted November 20, 2014 #12 Posted November 20, 2014 Snowmageon has come to Buffalo. Hope the WNY crew are all safe and sound under the snow blanket that dropped in. All the bikes away in storage?
MasterGuns Posted November 20, 2014 #13 Posted November 20, 2014 Used to live in Dunkirk. Glad I ain't there anymore.....even when it isn't snowin.
Jayceesfolly Posted November 20, 2014 #14 Posted November 20, 2014 Big Tom got hit hard according to local news channels. I would guess 3 feet or more and 2 more feet due in the next 24 hours. We are expecting 6-12 inches in the next 24 hours, in Rochester. Along with high winds which will cause blowing and drifting and poor visibility. I-90 is still closed from Rochester to PA border and will remain closed until sometime Thursday night or Friday morning. All stranded vehicles on I-90 have been removed as of 6:00 PM today. I am being optimistic and haven't put my bike away yet because it is supposed to be in the 50's this weekend and I am hoping the roads aren't awash in melting snow, so I can get one more ride in. Jim
MikeWa Posted November 20, 2014 #15 Posted November 20, 2014 Anybody got a snow plow attachment for a second gen? Mike
mraf Posted November 20, 2014 #16 Posted November 20, 2014 Actually not so far-feched. That reverse gear would where me out. They are calling for 60 degrees in a few days from now. No problems so far down here , but flooding is the next concern in the hardest hit areas. We get all four seasons around here sometimes all mixed up.

Marcarl Posted November 21, 2014 #18 Posted November 21, 2014 poor Tom,,, all that time off work and then just him and Taters at home. We were wondering what it would be like to deal with that much snow,,, that's a boat load for anybody!!!
bongobobny Posted November 21, 2014 #20 Posted November 21, 2014 Well we finally got hit last night! Got a whole foot to a foot and a half on top of the 2 to 3 inches we got all week!! I feel for south Buffalo and the suburbs as they got a total of 7 feet or so!!!~

Huggy Posted November 21, 2014 #22 Posted November 21, 2014 It's not supposed to do anything meaningful!!!! It just has to look AWESOME!!!! If anything we built actually had to function we wouldn't be in our shops tinkering!!!!!
BIG TOM Posted November 22, 2014 #23 Posted November 22, 2014 We got hit really hard....about 100 inches of snow..It been a really rough go around here. Took 4 days of snow removal at around 10 hours a day..Taters and I are opened up and the driving ban in Alden was lifted today..We restocked everything so we didn't have to eat the dog...it was a close call for her..We have 5 ft of snow on the roof and that concerns me with all the roofs colapsing around me..We are not out of the woods yet..the temperature is climbing as I write this...around 40f and the snow is getting quite heavy...ice jams in my gutters with snow and ice hanging 4 ft. Off of my eaves..Flooding is going to happen over the next few days as the temps are going to hit 60f....I am exhsusted and want everyone to know "I hate snow ! "
eagleeye Posted November 22, 2014 #24 Posted November 22, 2014 Tom, We know that you HATE SNOW!!!!!!!!!!! Get your roof cleaned off. I've been thinking of you. Glad that the dog is safe
Marcarl Posted November 22, 2014 #25 Posted November 22, 2014 Just a thought,,, maybe a stupid thought,,, I have those once in a while,,,, what if you opened up your attic hole to heat the roof, cost a bit on gas maybe, but not near as much as a collapsed roof. Maybe even put a heater up there????? alright that's kind of crazy, but if it burns at least the snow would be gone! Thinking,,,,,, with the warm temp it might just be the ticket.
