GAWildKat Posted November 21, 2014 #26 Posted November 21, 2014 I want that! I could piddle around town (if I don't get creamed!) and do some light shopping and such, otherwise, it's a great looking scooter. Good finds like are hard to come by.
Eck Posted November 22, 2014 Author #27 Posted November 22, 2014 Didn't feel all that well today, so I spent very little time today sanding and masking off some parts in prep for prime and paint. I did not take any photos today.. Sorry GA WildKat, but your about 12th in line for this thing already....sorry....
Eck Posted November 25, 2014 Author #28 Posted November 25, 2014 Follow up - progress on the rebuild of my Auranthetic Charger. Date: 11-24-2014 Sanded down all remaining parts such as rear fender, frame, electrical box cover, headlight bucket, tail light / license plate bucket assembly, masked everything off and sprayed primer on all parts needing paint "except for" the gas tank. I dropped the gas tank off today at a print shop and they are going to duplicate the one decal that is on the tank for me. Once the decal is made I can sand down the tank, prime it and then spray everything with a 1971 Hugger orange color which is about as close as it gets to original. Whoever played with the wiring on this thing needs his butt kicked. So many splices in the wiring. Like one wire which is only 6 inches long yet it has three red connector splices in it. Don't know why they didn't just replace that one wire...in to much of a hurry and didn't have another piece of wire I guess. It will be right when I get done with it. I am not sending the chrome parts out to be re-chromed.. I am not going to go thru that expense. The chrome parts are cleaning up really well though.
