Angelo Posted November 17, 2014 #1 Posted November 17, 2014 Well now that I have to order my tires I would like a quick plus/minus on going to a 130 up front in place of the stock 150. Does it make a big noticeable difference? Do any of you that made the change wish you hadn't and why? I can get front and rear shipped to the house for $285 in 2 days which is fine since I won't have time to change them until this weekend anyway.

djh3 Posted November 17, 2014 #5 Posted November 17, 2014 Check motorcycle superstore. I had the MC2 and loved them. Over 17k on them and had tread left but I was going on a trip and changed them a bit early to avoid any possible issues in rain loaded. Be sure to shop around including shipping.

cecdoo Posted November 17, 2014 #9 Posted November 17, 2014 I think it depends on where you do most of your riding, if you do alot of slow speed around town type riding the 130 would probably be best, if you spend most of your time on the highway doing 70 then I think the 150 is best. I started with the 150, then I tried the 130 for 20k miles, I went back to the 150 for me the 130 felt too "lite" at highway speeds, where the 150 felt rock solid while cruising on the highway. Skid took us on a great ride up a mtn in Asheville and I didnt have any trouble with that 150 in the twisties !!! Just my 2cents Craig
SilvrT Posted November 17, 2014 #10 Posted November 17, 2014 The 130, for me, was a definite improvement for slow speed handling. Handled well highway cruising and twisties. I also installed the leveling links which improved the low speed handling even more. That said, my RSMV was still a bear to handle at low speed compared to my Wing and my Victory. Get the 130, you will be glad you did even if you decide at a later date to go back to a 150.
mm482 Posted November 17, 2014 #11 Posted November 17, 2014 You need to try the 130 and then you will know. Earl
djh3 Posted November 17, 2014 #12 Posted November 17, 2014 Your in luck. Just got this in the e-mail. Its a sale @ Motorcycle superstore.
Angelo Posted November 17, 2014 Author #13 Posted November 17, 2014 Thanks guys, ordering the 130 so I can have a match set. Slow speed handling is the only complaint I have with this bike so I'll see how that works and can always change back if I don't like it.
Angelo Posted November 23, 2014 Author #14 Posted November 23, 2014 Well, I got my new tires installed and I'm very happy with the ride with the 130 up front. It handles much better at low speeds and at highway speeds feels just fine to me. Haven't had a chance to ride with a passenger yet, so I'll post up when I do to give my opinion on that but I can't imagine that it will be too bad.
