For anyone in AZ or wanting to ride through here I highly recommend the ride through the Jerome area. Beautiful scenery and fun roads to test the edges of your tires.

I'll get a couple pictures up when I get a chance.

Very unique set up that's for sure. I was riding conservatively since I was by my self, but caught up to quite a few cars which surprised me since I didn't think I was riding that fast. You can definitely give your gearbox a workout on that trip but I really wish I had my wife with me to get pictures during the ride, like I already said, it was very beautiful.

I drove to Jerome from Phoenix in a rental car on my way to Monument Valley in Utah last May. Had some barbecue. Definitely a great place to see on a tour.

Oh my goodness Ang,,, Tip and I LOVE Jerome!! I have been hanging my tires on the Jerome Mountain for years and finally got a chance to ride it with Tippy last summer.. Sadly, that valley ride leading to Jerome just south of Flag (had to take the ick-spress almost to the cut across to Sedona) was closed due to fires (I assume) last summer when we were there,, anyone coming from the Flag area to enjoy Jerome should be sure and ride it if they have time!! Do you know the ride to which I refer? I tend to "chase the front wheel" (as YammerDan would say) and dont do maps/GPS's so road names are a blur... Seems like that valley ride starts just a few miles out of flag on west side of that ick-spress way,,, maybe "15" ?? Its a hair pin fun filled ride right thru some gorgeous ponderosa pine, rock faced cliff areas with TONS of emergency tent tossing spots...

Anyway, here are a few shots of the Jerome area,,, I have a video of our "coast" (I LOVE coasting down mountains, farthest so far is Kings Canyon = 26 miles) out of Jerome that I hope to post up in this winters ride reports....

THANKS ANGELO for :stirthepot: and breaking some early cabin fever here!! You really got me torqued up buddy!!!

Puc

PS Angelo,, being the Az :stirthepot: that you are, I did some :stirthepot: and stuck a trick pic in there just for you.. Can ya identify it? :detective:

I think you're thinking of 89A, which is what I'm doing next time, taking it all the way to Flagstaff. I came up I-17 from Anthem, about 35 miles of "ick-spress" as you put it then cut across on 69 toward Prescott, from there I hit 89A into Jerome and got to play in the hills.

Next time you come down this way let me know and I'll see about meeting you in Flag and running down the hill with you.

:fingers-crossed-emo:thumbsup: on the meeting up for a ride down the mountain!!

Yea - your right,, thats it.. It is 89a that runs kinda parallel with Ick-17 (not 15) - actually those "ick-spress" ways out there are awesome riding so pay no attention to my cantankerous sarcastic remarks:backinmyday:... THAT 89a is a gorgeous ride,,, not sure now with all the fires you guys had out there but used to be lots of elk and wild life and GORGEOUS scenery..
