For some reason, when I click on Reply to Thread, I'm no longer getting the normal "advanced" window.... just displays the Quick Reply ???? I then have to click on Go Advanced to get the "normal" reply window.

I was just getting to like the quick reply.

I could reply without clicking anything.

Not even your teeth? (nevermind, that's clacking) :rotf:

Well what I found out is that they changed the way it works in VBulletin 4. You can either double click on the Reply button or go to Quick Reply and then "advanced". Double clicking seems to work very well.

It is up to all of you. The choice is to disable the quick reply or double click the regular reply if you want the full editor box.

I await your decision. :)

Generally when I am replying to a thread, I'm already at the bottom (coz that's where the last post is for me). It makes no difference if I'm using Quick Reply or not. Was just confused when I clicked the "Reply to Thread" button (like I always did) and the familiar window did not appear. Also makes no sense to have a "Reply to Thread" button at the bottom, just above the Quick Reply box, that does nothing more than "blip" the screen and leave you looking at the exact same thing. There is; however, a "Reply" icon at the bottom right of each post (beside Reply with Quote" that opens Quick Reply so that kinda adds the the "makes no sense" that the "Reply to Thread" button does the same thing.

geeez, hope I didn't lose ya in all that .... coz I think I lost myself!:rotf:

They do work entirely different. If you double click the Reply to Thread button, it opens up the full editor. On a slow connection that just adds to the time that it takes to post. Quick reply you just type and post. I know that you know all of that but .....

True, I do know all of that except..... it is not a common thing to double-click ANY button, anywhere, regardless of the OS (at least the ones I am familiar with).

I agree that it's strange and not normal. According to the folks at VBulletin though, it is the way it is supposed to work. In the older version, it was a single click.
