bnd07 Posted November 12, 2014 #1 Posted November 12, 2014 Guess it's that time of the year again. Just filled the tank, added some Seafoam, ran the carbs dry...then drained the bowls and covered her up for a long winters nap. For now I'll just rummage thru my memory of the few miles I have had with my new RSV and dream of the miles that will eventually come as springs forces winter back up to the North Pole and summer once again will warm my windshield.
naturbar Posted November 12, 2014 #2 Posted November 12, 2014 That first ride of the season is always something to look forward to. " Join " the site and be a family member. Spring is just around the corner !
etcswjoe Posted November 12, 2014 #3 Posted November 12, 2014 I never get to experience the first ride of the season since I ride all year round, but come on in and this group will keep you entertained all winter.
Carbon_One Posted November 12, 2014 #4 Posted November 12, 2014 Adding Seafoam and running the engine long enough till it got into the crabs is good but I feel draining them defeats the purpose. Also you run the risk of drying out seals & "O" rings. Oxidation can also cause problems later on too. Much better to keep the bowls full of fuel IMHO. Larry

Venturous Randy Posted November 12, 2014 #6 Posted November 12, 2014 Took a beautiful ride yesterday with temps around 68 degrees and sunny. We still have some beautiful color on a few trees. I ran the tank down pretty empty and stopped by the Farmers Coop and filled up with ethanol free gas. Being from the mid south, I usually some during each month, but last year it was pretty cold. JDaniel Posted November 12, 2014 #7 Posted November 12, 2014 We have highs only in the 30s the next 8 days. It's a little early for this crap.

pbjman Posted November 12, 2014 #10 Posted November 12, 2014 I always look forward to the first ride of the year also. Usually around Jan 1. Year around riding down here too. Oh yeah well when can you go snowshoeing or snow-shoveling, huh? Got a snappy answer for that?
Flyinfool Posted November 12, 2014 #11 Posted November 12, 2014 The high temps are not suposed to get up to freezing for the next 10 days. Great weather for making snow and getting it to stick .......
videoarizona Posted November 12, 2014 #12 Posted November 12, 2014 Here's a surefire way to "Stop the Blues!" I know we frown on trailers here, but ya know....putting your scoot on a trailer and coming south for a week or so is always an option for those who love snowblowers. U Haul rents... Just saying...

Or,,, we could combine these two posts and put this another way,, hmmmmm,, lets see here... "Great weather for making snow and getting it to stick" could = "Stick it to THE FOOL for making snow and this great weather" "I know we frown on trailers here, but ya know....putting your scoot on a trailer and coming south for a week or so is always an option for those who love snowblowers. U Haul rents..." = "we frown on snowblowers so we haul snowblowers on trailers to THE FOOL who loves snowblowers and we scoot south" "Stick it to THE FOOL for making snow and this great weather, we frown on snowblowers so we haul snowblowers on trailers to THE FOOL who loves snowblowers and we scoot south" Let this forever stand as an example of how a person can twist someones words to make a point and remain totally innocent in the process doing so,,, "Just saying"... :cool10:
Flyinfool Posted November 13, 2014 #14 Posted November 13, 2014 As I swivel my nozzles from the north to the east.......
cowpuc Posted November 13, 2014 #15 Posted November 13, 2014 As I swivel my nozzles from the north to the east....... Oopp,, oopp,, ya had er dialed in there pretty close for while Fool,, had to run in to the Doctor for some more stuff and it was nigh on a blizzard going in.. Didnt last long though, about 3 inches worth,, something obviously slipped on the machine again... Maybe you forgot to tighten the jam nuts on the leg adjustments after you tweeked on the nozzles... JDaniel Posted November 13, 2014 #16 Posted November 13, 2014 I think we need to start a petition to ban flying fool from VR from Nov 1st till March 1st each year.
cowpuc Posted November 13, 2014 #17 Posted November 13, 2014 I think we need to start a petition to ban flying fool from VR from Nov 1st till March 1st each year. Hmmmmm,,, ya sure ya wanna do that JD?? That Fool does all this weather manipulation in his spare time just to around here, Lord only knows what kind of disasters we would face if he was doing it full time:shock3:!!! ... I think I would be more inclined to support a petition to harass him more just to keep his devious mind busy and keep his fingers on the keyboard and away from that Wisconsin White Wash Machine!!!
Flyinfool Posted November 13, 2014 #18 Posted November 13, 2014 Lets see now, where exactly is Piqua, OH??? . . . . . Oh there it is, about half way between Munci IN and Columbus OH......... Swivel swivel swivel............
JDaniel Posted November 13, 2014 #19 Posted November 13, 2014 Your aim is pretty good. Snow flakes are falling.
Carbon_One Posted November 14, 2014 #20 Posted November 14, 2014 The Fool must be either out of practice or swiveled the snow making machine south. No complaints here in south east Michigan as nothing but a few flurries so far.
