MiCarl Posted November 9, 2014 #26 Posted November 9, 2014 I'm thinking he should mix some STOP LEAK in some Crown Royal, about a gallon of CR, and that should take care of the problem!!!!! I think probably the correct fluid is Ride On. Not only will it stop the leak, but it'll balance him too.
Pegasus1300 Posted November 9, 2014 #27 Posted November 9, 2014 Well Scott just remember it is Brain fluid not Brain matter. As to being smarter didn't they also diagnose you as delusional? Seriously Scott I hope all goes well with your treatment plan and that you are soon on the mend and telling us more stories. Thoughts and prayers in your direction.
MikeWa Posted November 9, 2014 #28 Posted November 9, 2014 Well Scott We certainly wish you all the best. Did they give you any advise like standing on your head. That way you could leak fluid back into your brain. Sure would look funny riding your bike like that. All kidding aside we wish you a proper diagnosis and a speedy recovery. Mike & Miko
saddlebum Posted November 9, 2014 #29 Posted November 9, 2014 Hey Puc, sorry to hear about your situation. However at least they found something. Hope and pray all goes well for you. I am curious though if you are swallowing all this brain fluid does that mean you are thinking more with your tummy then your head these days:whistling:
pbjman Posted November 9, 2014 #30 Posted November 9, 2014 My fellow Michigan venturer Cowpuc, I have observed that it is guys like you that are the 'glue' which brings an element of family to this forum unlike any other! I hope and pray for your physical health and that God's peace will remain with you as you go through this, brother!
Venture n Dixie Posted November 9, 2014 #31 Posted November 9, 2014 it amazes me that I can have a leaky brain and still be smarter than a lot of folks I know,,, go figure:rotf:.. Appreciate all thoughts and prayers anyone can muster for this ol pest!! “I used to think that the brain was the most wonderful organ in my body. Then I realized who was telling me this.” Will keep the Puc in mind & up front.
Skid Posted November 9, 2014 #32 Posted November 9, 2014 Been telling you that you need more vitamin sea, so get up and follow me down to Myrtle this week.
lsutley Posted November 9, 2014 #33 Posted November 9, 2014 Believe it or not, this diagnosis was one featured on an episode of "Mystery Diagnosis" and is evidently a rare occurrence. Whatever the cause and rate of occurrence, we offer our prayers for a complete recovery.
naturbar Posted November 10, 2014 #34 Posted November 10, 2014 Puc, been lookin' thru my toolbox for one important tool to help repair your damage.... Oh yeah here it is ......."Prayer". Reading your posts, I gather that your are a "believer" and those of us that are like minded, we lift you up and believe that you are already healed, amen.
bikerjohn Posted November 10, 2014 #36 Posted November 10, 2014 You are in our prayer Scott. John Following the pathway of many others (must be something we drank over the summer), I found out some pretty interesting stuff yesterday.. A while back I wrote a thread about weird smells in my nose, headaches, mental confusion.. Went to the doctor, had a CT Scan and ended up on some high dosages of anti-biotics.. That helped but the symptoms came back.. Like Buddy is doing with his knee, I decided to get a second opinion.. This new Dr. immediately sent me to a specialist (ENT).. My father's funeral (thanks again for ALL the support folks) ended up being on the day I was suppose to be at the ENT, had to change appointments but THANKFULLY they showed compassion and got me right in afterwards.. This is where the story really gets crazy.. This ENT numbs my nose and runs a camera up into my sinus cavity,, explains to me that this "sack" (as seen on a computer screen - pretty cool really) hanging in my sinus cavity is a "polyp", says it is kinda different that I only have one big one on one side.. Then he asked me if the drippage from my nose tastes salty:confused24:.. I smile and say,, yea,, as a matter of fact it does... As he is removing this camera from my nose he is explaining to me that he thinks I my be leaking brain fluid (used a medical name like Ceribal something) into my sinus cavity.. I stared at him to see if he was kidding:detective:,, apparently these ENT guys dont joke much (my daughter here at home laughed when I told her and said "that explains alot" = kids:whistling:).. I am now scheduled for an MRI in search of a crack in the bottom of my skull by which brain fluid can enter the sinus cavity.. The ENT will do no surgery repair work until he knows exactly whats going on BUT, I am also scheduled for blood tests and heart stress tests and all that stuff now too - exactly the kinda stuff they put me thru before I had back surgery back in 03 so I gotta hunch something tricky is in the works.... I probably should be deeply concerned (and I am) but I am finding myself actually feeling better just KNOWING that headway is being made (like Flyingfools case) - FINALLY!! On a side note,, being somewhat of an optimist, ok - maybe a little egocentric too,, it amazes me that I can have a leaky brain and still be smarter than a lot of folks I know,,, go figure:rotf:.. Appreciate all thoughts and prayers anyone can muster for this ol pest!! THANKS GANG!! On another side note,,, anyone else notice how many of us are going thru ailments at this time?? I honestly think maybe we should all go to Australia or somewhere really really warm, find us some nice warm white sand and bury our hurting bodies in it, leave just our heads sticking out..... PICK THE SPOT AT HIGH TIDE OF COURSE:stickinouttounge:
cowpuc Posted November 10, 2014 Author #37 Posted November 10, 2014 Thanks again for the heartfelt thoughts, prayers and :rotf:folks,, I KNEW I could count on ya'll!! Gotta say,, the ONLY comment that made me at all was that sneaky Flyingfool and his thinking he could trick me into purposely getting buried in his replacement for hot white sand:no-no-no:,, apparently he didnt read the part where I said its my sense of smell that is affected - not my sense of frostbite... All the rest of you made perfect sense - some very very good ideas!!! I will keep you all posted as Tip and I proceed thru this craziness!! You are ALL greatly appreciated (including you Mr. Bury Us In Snow) Puc
Flyinfool Posted November 10, 2014 #38 Posted November 10, 2014 Thanks again for the heartfelt thoughts, prayers and :rotf:folks,, I KNEW I could count on ya'll!! You are ALL greatly appreciated (including you Mr. Bury Us In Snow) Puc Darn you Puc. They may say that laughter heals the sole. But it is hell on a belly full of stitches. You know, with just a little tweaking, I can make the SNOW a real fine grain type so that it is more like white sand, then add in a good stiff wind so that it burns just like if it were hot, Yes I think that will help? Off to make some adjustments, Just for my buddy Puc. I may have to practice some to get it just right. Still wishing the best for you and keeping you in my prayers.

You are ALL greatly appreciated (including you Mr. Bury Us In Snow) Puc You're not alone with the crazy health issues Puc. Count another OF in. I've been wrestlin' with a couple of things for about a month now. Let's just say I don't like catheters.... And I was also smelling Vicks-Vapo rub at times. Then I noticed it was only when my big ol' Tom Cat climbed up on my recliner. He musta stepped in something. Case solved.... Hope the tests show it's something simple.
DragonRider Posted November 10, 2014 #40 Posted November 10, 2014 I too just had an MRI to find out what is causing my migraines, doc showed me the MRI today and said my brain looked normal and everything else it showed was normal too.........but no leaks. I know what you are going through with all the tests and such, this has been going on with me since April, when I started getting these killer migraines every morning, they would wake me up. But at least they seem to have found your problem, now they just have to figure out how to fix it. Dont know if you saw Flight of the Navigator, but your leaking brain brought that movie flooding back to me, because the automated pilot of the space craft told the kid they abducted that his brain was leaking, but information not fluid. We will keep you in our prayers for a full and swift recovery. And knowing you, there will be another humorous story to go along with this next chapter. Following the pathway of many others (must be something we drank over the summer), I found out some pretty interesting stuff yesterday.. My heart is out to you and i know from that little bang up two weeks ago, Why don't i feel better already? Thank GOD it can be fixed and they have seen it before. Take care of yourself and play by the rules, there is a lot of miles left in us to ride yet. Us more mature guys are a little bit softer on the inside but still thinking in our 20's on the outside. Thanks again for thinking of janet and I, Janet is still having some leg trouble ribs are sore and they do take awhile before the soreness goes away. I'm Blessed to know you and can't wait to shake your hand, your brother Jim

T.J. Posted November 11, 2014 #46 Posted November 11, 2014 You probably just blew a head gasket Puc. They can replace it. I do hope you do well through the winter and come out on top next riding season. Praying for strength and piece through all of this.
BlueSky Posted November 12, 2014 #48 Posted November 12, 2014 Must have been that frying pan to the back of your head when your wife tried to get you to slow down during the summer trip! Or maybe it was thermal shock from eating too much ice cream too fast! I seem to remember that George Clooney had that problem a few years ago and look at him now. I'm sure you will get well fast! Best Wishes for a speedy recovery!
bmiller Posted November 12, 2014 #49 Posted November 12, 2014 Puc, if attitude is a cure you will be at 100% in no time at all!! Take care, prayers are headed up for you!
