hipshot Posted March 21, 2008 #2 Posted March 21, 2008 my old machine, couldn't play the entire segment, but to ME, there will NEVER be a comedian, who can fill "red's" shoes! NEVER! brings back a LOT of very fond memories. thanks a million, for posting this one! just jt
Sailor Posted March 21, 2008 #3 Posted March 21, 2008 I loved Red, and he was never offensive, as some comedians are today. Red skeleton, W C Fields, Uncle Milty, Lilly Tomlin. They are all classic. That clip shows true heart.
captnmidnight Posted March 21, 2008 #4 Posted March 21, 2008 makes me miss him. And yes,, it is a pitty. Thanks dray,I needed that. Hope you did well on your test and take care of that ankle.
sarges46 Posted March 21, 2008 #5 Posted March 21, 2008 Dad and I never saw eye to eye much....but one thing we did enjoy together was the true, from the belly laughs, we had watching Red Skelton. I do remember him well.
sleepy2 Posted March 21, 2008 #6 Posted March 21, 2008 I'm with hipshot and the others!!!! Couldn't get enough of him when I was younger and like said there WILL NEVER BE a replacement!!!!!!! Thanks for shareing those clips.Liked him this much:bighug:
Joopster55 Posted March 21, 2008 #8 Posted March 21, 2008 Red was one of a kind. I remember watching him every week on TV with my Mom & Dad. Thanks for sharing...
Marcarl Posted March 21, 2008 #9 Posted March 21, 2008 1969 huh? Was he a prophet as well? How soon before someone decides that 'under God' must be removed? How little attention is paid to that statement today, and yet look how far our countries have come under that statement. Yes a true comedian, didn't need to climb all over somebody else to gain a good clean laugh. The good olde days.
Kregerdoodle Posted March 21, 2008 #10 Posted March 21, 2008 :clap2::clap2::clap2: Awsome !!!!!!! Thanks! I do not think there are very many kids these days that even know our pledge!!!
Yammer Dan Posted March 21, 2008 #11 Posted March 21, 2008 Red was the GREATEST!! Never got tired of him.
Grandpagak Posted March 21, 2008 #12 Posted March 21, 2008 i took the time to watch every one of those klips... and i laughed mine a$$ off... AND i didnt notice even one cus word or dirty remark... THANKS..!!!!
Guest ReinyRooster Posted March 21, 2008 #13 Posted March 21, 2008 Had many a good belly-laugh from him over the years. He is missed.
Mariner Fan Posted March 21, 2008 #14 Posted March 21, 2008 Red Skelton was one of the best. Thanks for sharing this video.
MikeM8560 Posted March 22, 2008 #15 Posted March 22, 2008 Ill never forget as a kid " Gertrude and heathclif sitting on a telephone wire........"
lonestarmedic Posted March 22, 2008 #16 Posted March 22, 2008 I use his audio on the pledge as the introduction for each group of soldiers I teach. It is the greatest motivator. Fortunately the Army doesn't mind "under God". Red's delivery of a one liner will never be matched. And who can forget Clem Kadiddlehopper? Thanks for posting him. JB
DragonRider Posted March 22, 2008 #17 Posted March 22, 2008 A great American also, I too loved watching him as a kid, I believe the show came on Tuesday nites, and the whole family would gather around the black and white set to watch and laugh. My wife know how much I loved that show and Red, she found some of his old shows on DVD and bought them for me, now I need to go find them and watch them again. Too bad we dont have more comedians like him.
James Ardrey Posted March 22, 2008 #18 Posted March 22, 2008 Red was the best. He was my favorite standup comedian. Brings back a lot of memories. I agree with all the other posts. We need more like him. Thanks for the post.
dray Posted March 22, 2008 Author #19 Posted March 22, 2008 as a kid i just loved the silent hour he did every week and yes in black and white
