Chaharly Posted November 8, 2014 #1 Posted November 8, 2014 I finally did it after waiting a few days from my dealer for the gasket. Only one of the slip ons had a gasket in it lol. Well i crushed the gasket a little trying to get it to squeeze into the pipe but i got it. Got the bike all back together and all i gotta say is wow. My RSV now reminds me of my old 85 and is a much more enjoyable ride for me. When i pulled the old slip-ons off my bike the baffles fell out of both of them, so she was a screamer before. I found a pair of OEM slip ons from a tour deluxe as advertised with little to no scratches. They looked really nice, but one of the tips has a big scratch across it, which wouldnt be a big deal but it IS the only part of the pipe you can see But I think I'm just gonna keep the stock pipes on. I love the sound and it really turns these into a sweet bike! What do you guys run for pipes?
wrenchrob Posted November 9, 2014 #2 Posted November 9, 2014 I have the LA Choppers and they are a little to loud after riding for awhile
Chaharly Posted November 9, 2014 Author #3 Posted November 9, 2014 I have the LA Choppers and they are a little to loud after riding for awhile I'm actually pretty surprised by the pipes they make for this bike. Almost every one I checked out so far has been too loud for me. I hope to eventually get monster ovals, but honestly i like the stock (lack of) sound

I hope to eventually get monster ovals, but honestly i like the stock (lack of) sound I initially did the mod to the oem mufflers but wasn't quite the sound I was looking for. Hopefully I can find something in between this winter. Bike now parked due to the corrosive liquid they sprayed on the roads last Friday:(

wrenchrob Posted November 9, 2014 #6 Posted November 9, 2014 I really like the looks of those Vance and Hines. I would like to hear them in person.
Motiv Posted November 9, 2014 #7 Posted November 9, 2014 I have a set of Samsons with fishtail tips on right now, the sound real good and not too loud for cruising but I can see them get annoying for touring which I have not done yet on this bike. I will be installing a set of Peace Maker slip-ons over the winter that I got used so I have to fab up a manual actuation system.
