Snow Tires

So what is the best snow tire for a Venture ? Should the front and rear be different ?

A spiked knobby on the rear and although you may question this choice, a poly ski with carbide runners on the front.

Maybe you should think about chains. Seems like a good plan to me!

we used to screw short sheet metal screws in our knobbies for snow riding. Bikes were much lighter and more responsive

As heavy as the Venture is I would go with a different bike. I have ridden bikes in the snow but I wouldn't a Venture. I have ridden the Dr and a Suzuki 500 in the snow.

im running a pirelli scorpion in the front and a TW 40 in the rear. TW40 and the TW202 are the only knobbies for our first gens rear tire

 

 

also do your frame a favor and give everything a healthy coat of ACF 50
