saddlebum Posted November 5, 2014 #3 Posted November 5, 2014 I have a bunch of good quality head sets kicking around the house that my kids have discarded as they continue to buy higher quality sets. I have been thinking about replacing my J & M speakers with the speakers out of these head sets. Will let you know how it turns out.

Tisunac Posted November 5, 2014 #5 Posted November 5, 2014 to answe my own question.........yea check these out...http://www.edsets.com/product_details.php?item_id=203 has any1 used these? I have an Edsets for the last year or so. I like it. Quality product, contacts are high end, very water-tight connections for the mic and the cable. One big improvement - you can hook up your earbuds instead of the speakers, it has a 3.5 input for the "regular" earbuds and that makes the sound much nicer, if you don't mind earbuds in your ears for a longer periods of time. That said, I did not notice a huge improvement in bass response with the new speakers. They are nice and thin but I can't tell that there's much more bass with them. Some people might disagree but that's my experience with them. Again, you can plug in your earbuds and voila plenty of bass and a nice sound. Also, Ed is a good people...very easy to work with and helpful over the phone or email. I believe they have some Thanksgiving sale right now, too..... I've heard that's about as good as it gets when you talk about the sound quality. Apparently, you can't get any better sound with a Bluetooth intercom (Sena, Chaterbox,...) neither. I have no experience with any of those...
djh3 Posted November 6, 2014 #6 Posted November 6, 2014 I made a harness that plugs into the comm under the fairing. I soldered in a cable with a 3.5mm headphone jack and ran it back along the OEM cable. I run ear buds with my headset all the time now. I hear music better, the voice comm is clearer and road noise is way down. I have seen several videos on you Tube on clipping out the J&M type speakers and soldering in regular headset speakers. sometimes they have to dremel the things apart, but usually if you use the thinner ones they will fit. And better quality speakers to boot.
