hoochster Posted November 3, 2014 #1 Posted November 3, 2014 I am looking at purchasing the Carbtune Pro and an RPM gauge from Amazon and was just wondering if I also need the 6mm adapter set. I also wanted to ensure the RPM gauge I was looking at would work. Below are the sites for the items. Carbtune Pro: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000K7JHWA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=S0RMJOWIVABC&coliid=I28MGDK4GBEXMZ Adapters: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000OO4PWG/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=S0RMJOWIVABC&coliid=I2WTJSHS19E99R RPM Gauge: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ON0BM82/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=S0RMJOWIVABC&coliid=I3KS1I658XDU60 If anyone has any suggestions for a gauge that would be appreciated as well. Thanks!
billmac Posted November 3, 2014 #2 Posted November 3, 2014 that's not a carbtune it's a motion pro. no adaptors need with the real carbtune. why would you want to add something to tell you when to change oil or get the valves adjusted?
hoochster Posted November 3, 2014 Author #3 Posted November 3, 2014 Did not that realize that was not a carbtune. I did a search on carbtune and that is what came up. I just saw the pro at the end and assumed that was it. lol Thanks!
Prairiehammer Posted November 3, 2014 #4 Posted November 3, 2014 There is no need for the 6mm adapters on ANY (1983-2013) XVZ engine. The 'spigots' on the intake manifold receive the manometer hose without need for adaptation. The adapters are for most other Yamaha engines that have a threaded plug that is removed and the adapters are screwed into the 'manifold' to adapt the threaded hole to the hose of the manometer.
