Got it - thanks M61, must have been a senior moment cause I was looking all over the body and frame of the bike and never even thought to look in that location. You have to bend way down to see it. Used to a bike with just a windshield, not a fairing.

There is also another one inch hole under the seat on the left side that you can add another DC outlet. Easy to install because it is very close to the battery and makes it handy when you're charging a device. I got one with a rubber cover to from a local auto store.

Yeah, I have a wire running out that opening with a capped plug on it. Was told by dealer it was for battery charging but can also be used as outlet with proper matching plug. I found it right away but the one in the fairing was not easy to spot not knowing where to look.

And watch out for that button right next to the 12v DC outlet in the fairing.

In case you didn't know, it is the passenger ejection seat.

Now I am curious if you will try it,,,,,, when your wife is on or off?

:rotf::rotf::rotf: Will have to try that !

Far as I know the aux power out let was on them from 99 on. I know where it is and half the time if I dont have the double outlet plugged in I cant find it. Its on the left of the faring as sitting on bike, just under the "roll" where the speaker is. You almost have to get off the bike and look with a flashlight.

The auxiliary plug under the riders seat is a white two wire connector. It will have both the male and female ends of the plug but it will not have two of the pins that go inside. Why they are not included I do not know. To use this plug you will need to come up with the pins or modify the connector.

Mike

P.S. I ordered the pins from here. http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Elec__Products/Connectors/connectors.html They do have a minimum order amount but if a few people get together it is doable.

I used the white connector under the seat by tinning two wires with solder and jamming them into the empty connector. Plugged that connector into the one connected to the bike and it has held for a few thousand miles. I used this to feed ignition on power to my passing lamp relay

The plug for the "Aux" under the seat has a blank in it. I dont have a clue why. Steve (M61amech) may make a plug that goes right in there. I actually had a old harness off something laying around and pulled it apart and used a pin out of it. If Steve cant hook you up let me know, I think I have a connector I can send ya.

Definitely couldn't see it sitting on the bike but I found it. What's the button next to it for?
