ACE50 Posted October 29, 2014 #5 Posted October 29, 2014 I have access to these screw caps and have put them on my windshield top screws as I remove them frequently, but haven't felt the need for the hard-bags. How often do you need to remove them? For a new tire, what else?
Chaharly Posted October 29, 2014 Author #6 Posted October 29, 2014 I have access to these screw caps and have put them on my windshield top screws as I remove them frequently, but haven't felt the need for the hard-bags. How often do you need to remove them? For a new tire, what else? Personally I'd remove the side bags every time I wash the bike. I ride in the winter here and we occasionally get that nasty salt/slime on the road. I figure if i'm going to spend an hour cleaning it i might as well get the tops of the pipes and the backs of the bags right?! Plus that rear fender is hard for me to fit my hand around and hat would make cleaning that a breeze!
mirider Posted November 5, 2014 #7 Posted November 5, 2014 Just ordered these off ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/231360739975?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
djh3 Posted November 5, 2014 #8 Posted November 5, 2014 steve, yours comes up as a bad link. For me not much longer to to just use OEM hardware. b the time I clear all the stuff out of the left saddle bag I carry normally, 4 screws ain't that big of deal. Rain suits, tire repair kit, bungee cords OH and the ever popular CD player.
mirider Posted November 8, 2014 #9 Posted November 8, 2014 Rec'd. and installed the quick removal set I bought on ebay (post #7) today and they work great ! Would never have even known there was such a thing without this Forum.
M61A1MECH Posted November 8, 2014 #10 Posted November 8, 2014 Dion probably comes as bad link because it was put in befoe the new site upgrade a few days ago. I will check to see if Rick hs relisted his parts,if so I will up date the link. OK All fixed now. I suspect there will be issues ike this from time to time.
