CONGRATS Slowroll,, and DOUBLE congrats that the wife would rather drive the Explorer By the way,, your pic problem of not being able to get them to upload onto VR may be the size of picture your trying to upload.. I know I set my camera to 420x680 (or something like that) and it works fine,, if I leave it at the larger pic sizes they wont upload.. Just an FYI,,,, THANK YOU for these pics - GORGEOUS SHOTS!!!

Ventureless Posted October 26, 2014 #4 Posted October 26, 2014 The new ride is nice, but the big question is did you stop at Naughty Girls Donuts while you were there?!!!!!
slowrollwv Posted October 27, 2014 Author #5 Posted October 27, 2014 Sure did, can't go by without stopping.
Ventureless Posted October 27, 2014 #6 Posted October 27, 2014 Sure did, can't go by without stopping. Wife, kids and I were out that way a few weeks ago and stopped by for the first time. The owners are great people. My son is allergic to eggs and is 8 and has never had a donut in his life. Well low and behold, they had eggless donuts. He didn't like the flavors they had and the owner asked what he wanted and said it would take 10 minutes to make one for him. When she came to the table, she was carrying a box. We paid for one and she gave him 6 or 8 because he was so excited. Before we left, my son was so happy, he ran to the back and gave her a big hug and thank you.
Madcow Posted October 27, 2014 #7 Posted October 27, 2014 Great place to visit, even better to live there. Yes the commute into Springfield is a bit much... like this morning but, I wouldn't trade places with anyone. Deer in the front yard and once in a while there's a bear in the back. And where else can a man own a backhoe just for fun??

Ventureless Posted October 27, 2014 #10 Posted October 27, 2014 Ever go to the Red Zone? They have karaoke and I'm a singing fool. Yep but we usually go when they have the $5 burgers. With 2 young kids I don't get out at night much anymore unless it is a kid friendly house party.

Tisunac Posted October 29, 2014 #15 Posted October 29, 2014 Cool!.. what area are you in Tisunac? Charlottesville area. Work in Cville, live at Lake Monticello.
Madcow Posted October 29, 2014 #16 Posted October 29, 2014 My job is in Front Royal although I live in NOVA. Hopefully within 6 months I'll be out there somewhere with a new home. SWEET!! There are some nice houses for good deals out my way. Best part is you are still close enough for NOVA jobs if things change. Humm just for giggles. My girlfriend will be selling her 900sqft two bedroom this spring. Small but.. low priced for the area. Anyway, just a thought.
Madcow Posted October 29, 2014 #17 Posted October 29, 2014 Cool!.. what area are you in Tisunac? Awesome.. another Shenandoah Valley rider!!!

slowrollwv Posted October 29, 2014 Author #19 Posted October 29, 2014 Well while This thread is HIJACKED I just as well join in. As we are as close as we are we should get together for a ride some Saturday. We could go for donuts or do some house hunting. :rotf::rotf::rotf:

As we are as close as we are we should get together for a ride some Saturday. We could go for donuts or do some house hunting. :rotf::rotf::rotf: Just wait another month before anybody plans something. I need to get another bike first!!!! Maybe we can bring the thread back on track. Tell us more about the new ride. Is it the 6 or 8? My brother in law found a found a good deal on one just like yours but baby blueish. He likes it but is unsure of the V6 in it. I have driven one and think it is plenty of power. Especially the newer 6s. Hell I would love to have one of the new 2.3L 4cylinders.
slowrollwv Posted October 29, 2014 Author #21 Posted October 29, 2014 It is the 3.7 V6. If you look under the hood the valve covers look like they came off a hemi, they are huge. Plenty of power, even with traction control it will break the tires loose. 6 speed auto trans with manual shift. I am liking it more every day. It has been 40 some years sence I have owned a convertible and I am enjoying it.

And not to mention much more efficient as well. Soon they won't be putting anything but turbo 4s in everything!!
slowrollwv Posted October 30, 2014 Author #23 Posted October 30, 2014 The only thing that kept me from getting a turbo this weekend was the monthly payment. It was a 6.7 turbo diesel in a F-250.
