TheCoffsKid Posted October 25, 2014 #1 Posted October 25, 2014 Hi, Has anyone ever "frenched" the passing lamps into an aftermarket (make to be decided) fairing? Cheers,
spear Posted October 27, 2014 #2 Posted October 27, 2014 Hi, Has anyone ever "frenched" the passing lamps into an aftermarket (make to be decided) fairing? Cheers, Crikey bloke! You wanna run that by us in English? (Sounds rude to me!)
BratmanXj Posted October 27, 2014 #3 Posted October 27, 2014 I have not, but I'm not sure people understand what your asking. You're looking to have the driving lights mounted into the glass-work of the fairing like on the new Indian bikes.
Bubber Posted October 27, 2014 #4 Posted October 27, 2014 "C" senior! And no fairings are ABS and are not that easy to add stuff like a recessed cup for a lamp. besides there is stuff in the fairing that could interfere with the lights. Do with it what you will. Bubber
StarFan Posted October 27, 2014 #5 Posted October 27, 2014 Hi, Has anyone ever "frenched" the passing lamps into an aftermarket (make to be decided) fairing? Cheers, If I understand you right then you want to embed them in the aftermarket fairing like Bubber said. Well it can certainly be done. Have a look at this thread - post number 7, 11, 13 and 14 by COOP / Bob. He embedded speaker pods to his saddlebags. You could do the same with the fairing. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=85341
djh3 Posted October 28, 2014 #6 Posted October 28, 2014 The couple aftermarket fairings I have delt with were fiberglass. My Reckless was fiberglass. Kind of like this?? http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTAtqKyRIKPAYTcVtBHoU3G-l2Ww6sv8Qoeg-beQvxBjBTce2RvNw With and RSV I suppose maybe you could fit some LED smaller type lights in there.
MikeWa Posted October 28, 2014 #7 Posted October 28, 2014 Since you are looking at an aftermarket fairing just make sure you get something you can work with. Mike
TheCoffsKid Posted October 28, 2014 Author #8 Posted October 28, 2014 Hi, thanks to everyone who replied. I would be using a fibreglass fairing and would get a surfboard maker to make any alterations; heaps of them where I live; mount on the quick release locators and get a snap connection for the electrics. I would only want the outer skin. cheers,
