BikePilotOK Posted October 22, 2014 #1 Posted October 22, 2014 Is there any way to modify the stock muffles on an '05 RSV to get a little more rumble? Can you take out the baffle or mod it? Sorry if this has been asked before....
MikeWa Posted October 22, 2014 #2 Posted October 22, 2014 Yes there is. I will find the thread and get back to you. Mike
Yammer Dan Posted October 22, 2014 #3 Posted October 22, 2014 Only about 1000 times....:rotfl:I'll let the 2nd Gen experts chime in here. I put Bubs on mine. Sounds like a real motorcycle..... but they can be drilled. Should be a thread on here somewhere for that. Or there are ways to put Hardley pipes on there.
MikeWa Posted October 22, 2014 #4 Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) Ok here it is. You reach in the back of the muffler with a dremmel cutter and cut the pipe. Then just push the pipe out of the way. There are a couple of threads on this. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41418&highlight=muffler Sounds pretty good too. Mike Looks like this when done. BikePilotOK Posted October 22, 2014 Author #5 Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the info! Much appreciated! Looking at the above pic and the cut away on the thread, couldn't you just drill some holes through the end caps and accomplish the same thing? Anyone try that? Edited October 22, 2014 by BikePilotOK

The design of the muffler is such that you have two end caps. An inner and outer. And yes you could just drill holes. But I wouldn't. Mike
BikePilotOK Posted October 23, 2014 Author #8 Posted October 23, 2014 Ok thanks. Looks like it would be difficult to do with the angle anyway.
djh3 Posted October 23, 2014 #9 Posted October 23, 2014 I would say the majority just find a pair of HD touring mufflers. Anything off a street glide, ultra glide. Ultra classic etc. Most times you can find them for around 20-30 bucks. Sometimes you can get a pair cheap from your local HD dealer as them guys swap them out before the title work is done. Gives it a more throaty sound with out defaning your hearing.
