I received a text this a.m. from a gentlemen interested in buying my 99 RSV. Area code is from Los Angeles. I am in Ohio. He said he is on an off coast oil rig worker and will pay by pay pal from his account to mine and have his pickup agent get the bike for him. I am responding to him to have his pickup agent bring the cash and he can have the bike.

I had a similar occurrace a while back. I told the scammer that he could meet me at the tag office and that he could pay me cash when we transfered the title. Didn't hear back

Heck, if he wants to pay you with Paypal and pick up the 3% PP fees, I think I'd give him a chance. Just make sure the money is in your account and then transferred to your bank. 'Course he'll probably come back with the excuse that he's having trouble with Paypal and would like to transfer to your bank account directly..... then it's time to dump him. Also if you have his... or hers... email address or name, do a Google search on both. For some reason scam artists never seem to be smart enough to change their ID. Even when there are scam reports on them all over the net....

If I know someone is a thief and they are in the same room with me I totally ignore them using the cold shoulder routine - if they say something to me I will look the other way and wont even give them the time of day..

To me,, scammers are the worst of the worst in thievingdom - real bottom feeders.. I treat them the same way as any other thief! When I get a message like that, by text or by email (if I am using Craigs I never include my phone or email addy in the ad, I always run it thru craigs response system) I utilize my "cold shoulder button" (spelled "DELETE") on em :rotf:

Dont play games with these low lifes, NEVER give them anymore info than they already have - especially not Paypal or banking info!!

Somebody from Texas contacted me once (I'm in Virginia) after I aquire about the bike he was selling (good deal, or course), same story - he told me to pay and he'll send me the bike bla bla bla.... I've asked where he lives, he told me the name of the city, I told him I'm coming next week to a camp 50 miles from him for a SWAT training and I can stop by his place with a few of my buddies to check the bike out. He NEVER contacted me back hahaha.....
