Maybe last week or so there was a post discussing different brands of bikes, and I think someone posted that Indian wasn't trying to compete with Harley. Guess what??

I just received this in my email box. :stirthepot: :sign20:

INDIAN OFFER

Thats not competition OR theft of customers.

Its Polaris's way of rewarding Harley owners (with enuff income to buy an additional bike) if they add an Indian to their garage.

I know a fellow who did exactly that. Loves them both.

:happy34:

(but it DOES put a foot in the door) :whistling:

Should have done it as a trade in, not just if you own one. That being said, clever way to dump the last of your 2014 bikes you have left.

Offer only good in California, Florida and Canada

The Michigan dealers have a bunch of leftover 2013's and 14's and are using the Military thousand dollar discount (notice the discounts cant be combined, California = HD ownership discount, MI = Military discount as example).. example = http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/mcd/4698828278.html

Could be another interesting winter for left over new bike prices!!

Also, anyone else notice that Polaris is dropping the 5 year warranty with the 15's and going to a 2 year instead?

5 year unlimited miles,,, hmmmm,,, wonder how many miles a man and his wife could do in 5 years of serious riding.. Think of the people you could meet, stickers and signatures you could accumulate and the sites you could see..:backinmyday:

Wonder what that new Classic would look like after 5 years of camping on the Montana Mountain two tracks:stirthepot:

Yeah I did notice that. On a $30,000 bike you'da thought they would have kept it. Doesn't give potential customers a whole lot of confidence when a company lowers their coverage...

Me and a friend, who bought an Indian Chieftain a few months ago, were at Myrtle Beach looking and sitting on the new Road Master.

A fella walked up, pretty pumped. He had been at the HD dealer in the morning. He priced a high end Ultra, with intent to buy. But he left the HD dealer to give himself a cool down and breakfast. He wandered to the Indian dealer, saw the Road Master, rode it and,,, yep bought it right then.

Did I say he was pumped?

Victory off and on changes the time limit on the warranty. I dunno why. Few years back they were 5 yr then a couple of yr only 2. I had one all priced out, left over model, military discount, some other discount (less than $1000 for sure) By the time I convinced my CU it was A: American bike (which they had a lower rate for) B: got the paperwork through the hoops I called the dealer and he said WOW thats to bad, cause it went out the door late yesterday afternoon.

So the ad says proof of ownership. Dont say nothing about trading it in that I saw.

Got a call on Saturday that the indian dealer got some road masters in. 2 days later I drive up to check them out - all sold. Dang, can't keep them on the floor. They are sold before they arrive. He did have a customers in the back waiting tobe picked up. He let me go over it - check it out but not sit on it. When I replace the venture it will be with a indian road master - nice bike!

Wish our local Indian dealer was closer Art,, I would be stopping in there daily to try and catch a peek at one myself!!! They sure are pretty in pictures!! Definitely a head turner!!

Be awesome if Polaris hit on something that actually did make Harley squint a little,, competition is good for all of us - its the American way!!!:stirthepot::cool10:
