I was installing the rear caliper on my 83 VR project after replacing the piston seals and noticed that the caliper support bolt is missing. This is the bolt that goes thru the swingarm and into the support bracket for the caliper. (#12 on the rear brake caliper parts list, part #90109-18719-00). Yamaha shows it as obsolete.

Anybody have one for sale or know where I can get one? :fingers-crossed-emo

Here is a NOS one on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Yamaha-Bolt-1984-1985-XVZ1200-1983-XVZ12-90109-18719-00-/361030809237?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item540f1cf695&vxp=mtr

Kinda expensive, but it appears what with the washer head and shoulder that it may be your only recourse?

Thanks! You are very generous. That is a critical bolt. I just happened to notice it was missing when I was rebuilding the "locked up" brakes. So much for buying a project that someone worked on for a bit, and then left it in a corner of their garage. It is fun getting it going, though. Postage and handling sent by return mail.

That bolt changed in 86, they are not interchangeable.

Just mentioning it in case donor bolt is from an MKII.

The MKII does not use ANY bolt to hold the caliper bracket to the swing arm. So yeah, it is not interchangeable, because there is no place to use it on the MKII.:big-grin-emoticon:

I should know this !! Went through it with Tweety several years ago when I put MKII rear brake on 83 (Tweety). I was thinking that pin on swingarm was removable on MKII's.

Picture attached of MKI & MKII caliper arm.
