I was considering buying a `01 black cherry Royal Star Venture with 10,000 miles for $9500.00. Is this about right for this bike? Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Personally I think that is kind of high unless it has a ton of aftermarket stuff on it. I would honestly worry some to see an 01 with only 10,000 miles on it. These bikes are meant to be ridden. Check the blue book on the bike, but I think you can find some better deals out there.

I don't know what you are willing to spend, but there was a post earlier today by gunboat offering a 2006 Venture for $12,500 or best offer. There was a phone number to contact and they would email pics if interested. I don't know anything about the bike, just saw the post and thought I would pass it on. The '06 would have transferrable warranty.

Are you sure it's an '01? Has it been repainted? The first factory painted black cherry was '06. If it's an '06 you better by it for that price. If it's an '01 that's been re-painted then I would question the price.

Factory colors for '01

Cherry Red/Bordeaux

Stardust Silver/Forest Green

Gotta go with Gary on this one! Tread carefully, and ask yourself if repainted, why?

There seems to be some prety good buys out there. I just got back from Florida where I bought my 07/Venture/Midnight with 1100 miles on it and it came with a 6 dics CD changer, highway pegs, gorilla alarm system and two half helmets. I paid 12400.00. Bikes here in Canada are WAY OVER PRICED. I saved over 7000. 00 on the bike plus I put on accessories in Florida at 2/3rds the cost here. I have to say it helps if you have a cousin that works at the dearership too. Heres my take on it. I bought this bike off of ebay from a private seller.

1. Know what it is you really want, year, colour, accessories, and mileage.

2. Know what it is you really want to spend and stick with it. Accessories are important to the person selling the bike, but the one buying is just looking at the bike.

3. Dont be in a hurry, there is more then one good buy out there. Dont get caught up in the I am going to loose it

4. If possible have a look at the bike your self or have someone look at it who's judgement you trust.

Just my 2 cents worth

A local dealer has a New RSV, left over, advertised for $10,400, plus shipping and set up.

Check all dealers in your area, for left overs. If you want a plain jane RSV
