craigatcsi Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Simply for fun..... When I was very young, I'm thinking back in the mid-60s or so, there was some kind of noise maker that mounted to our Bicycles that had a lever that you 'wound up' or 'pumped up' to make it sound like your bike had an engine. If memory serves me right, I am picturing something mounting on the cross bar of a boys bike and there was a yellow lever that we would pull back towards the banana seat. The faster you pulled the lever the louder it got and the longer it lasted. I don't have a clue what to search for on Ebay. Hey, maybe I need one for my Trike! craigr
jakester Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 We always used a clothes pin and a playing card in the spokes. Ha what fun. Bill
Motorcycle Mike Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I don't remember the one your talking about, but I remember this. http://www.vintagevrroom.com/ I never had one though.
craigatcsi Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Nopers - That isn't it. Dog-gone-it, I also posted this to my Facebook page and no one there can remember it either. I can't believe that I am the only one that remembers this. This will bug me until someone else remembers it.
craigatcsi Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Well, after zooming in on the Pic, I think it WAS the V-Roooom. It seems to me that after some use, the Red Switch wouldn't stay up and we would have to hold it up to make the sound - making it a two-handed task. I may have to order one then figure out a way to mount it to my Trike!
etcswjoe Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Here is a video of the Vroom Booster Engine.
