Daitan Posted September 29, 2014 #1 Posted September 29, 2014 I was involved in a motorcycle and car accident Thursday nite. The woman failed to yield the right of way to me. We hit head on. I was ambulanced to strong memorial and after extensive testing found out that I have a broken pelvis. Thank God, that is all that happened to me and also that Linus was not on the back. I am more than likely going to be discharged tomorrow for home. But will be out of work for about 9-12 weeks. Just wanted to let my venture family know what happened, and ask for your prayers and warm thoughts on my recovery. The bike is totalled, and her car is not that good of shape either. Thanks to everyone and I'll post more as things progress. Be safe out there, PLEASE.
bongobobny Posted September 29, 2014 #2 Posted September 29, 2014 Praise God you are still alive and with us!! Heal fast my friend!!

Her car? not really interested. Take the time to heal thoroughly and well. The road will still be there when you're ready.
Chaharly Posted September 29, 2014 #4 Posted September 29, 2014 Well we're glad that you're going to be ok and ended up (mostly) in one piece! I think I'm going to add a headlight modulator to my bike, It seems that people really dont watch the road these days.
Venturous Randy Posted September 29, 2014 #5 Posted September 29, 2014 This is probably one of those injuries that will stay with you the rest of your life. I hope she had good insurance and you have good underinsured motorist. Dealing with an insurance company can be about as painful as a broken pelvis. Glad you are still with us and wish you the best. XV1100SE Posted September 29, 2014 #7 Posted September 29, 2014 Sorry to hear about your accident. Bike can be replaced (new 2015 Venture?), you can't be.
Prairiehammer Posted September 29, 2014 #8 Posted September 29, 2014 I have suffered a broken pelvis (and dislocated hip), so feel fortunate if you are allowed to walk in '9-12 weeks'. I was on crutches for more than three months. I too have suffered as a result of 'unseeing' cage drivers. I hope you don't experience my 'lost fire in the belly for riding'. Find yourself another Venture to enjoy next summer, Ben. Keep us posted. God speed toward healing.
Yammer Dan Posted September 29, 2014 #9 Posted September 29, 2014 Hope you heal quickly. Glad you are here to post this. Don't cut her any slack. As already stated this one will be with you for a while. Good luck.
