ChrisM Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Hi guys... I think I need some help... I got my bike lowered, bit, front and back. I wanted to raise the front back to the factory height, but I have failed. I have removed the fairing, loosened the two bolts on each side of the forks by the tree, loosened the big nut on top of the tree... AND NOTHING.... What am I missing??? Can someone give me some step-by-step quick instructions on how to raise the forks back tho their factory height???? Please and thanks Chris
djh3 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 See if this thread helps you out. Other wise I'm going to have to go out and start looking mine over to figure it out. I can tell you I had to put mine on a lift and remove the front wheel to get it to lower into the triple tree. Then it went to far and I had to bring them back out. I could not get it to go with the front wheel on the forks. I can only guess because you have to move them (forks) exactly the same amount at the same time or else it sort of wedges it self. Good luck and let us know what you find out.
ChrisM Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 Thanks djh3 ... i did have a look at that post, and this was what I based my work on... I will keep looking, but if this involves disassembly of the entire front end, I may wait till the end of riding season
Nemo Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 It's been quite awhile, but as I remember, I had to lift the weight of the bike with the jack and then the weight of the front end seemed to just fall down in place. Good luck to you.
