Motiv Posted September 28, 2014 #1 Posted September 28, 2014 Met a nice gentleman and his lady tonight, he was riding a 09 RSV and it sported a real nice rear tail/brake light bar. He bought the bike with it on and thinks it was a Yamaha product. Can anyone identify it? it had a tag on the backside with the numbers 250-4400. http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q654/Pauljewl/20140927_191023_zpsqg0o9u9x.jpg I also informed him about this forum and all the good tech on here, maybe he'll join?
M61A1MECH Posted September 28, 2014 #2 Posted September 28, 2014 That is not a Yamaha product it is an after market unit, there are a few folks that sell them, they come with out the chrome bezel most of the time, the chrome bezel can be obtained from most sellers. I sell a plug and play kit that uses that light bar , but no chrome bezel, here is a link to my ad. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=4943&title=run-2fbrake-2fturn-light-bar-for-2nd-gen-venture&cat=35 I could probably find the chrome bezel if some one wanted one.
Triple J Posted September 28, 2014 #5 Posted September 28, 2014 I've got one of the ones M61A1MECH sells, Couldn't be happier. Really lights up the back end.

Freebird Posted September 28, 2014 #7 Posted September 28, 2014 If you want the chrome, Diamond R Accessories offers it. Very nice product. http://www.diamondraccessories.com/yamaha/yamahaproducts.php
StarFan Posted September 28, 2014 #8 Posted September 28, 2014 I bought a lightbar from superbrightleds.com because it is wider than the ones I have seen available. Here below is the link as well as some pictures. https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/id-bars/braketurn-light-bar-tlb-r11/1027/2482/ I had a backing plate made out of mirror stainless steel to add a little chrome to it and make it wider. Also had some spacers made to bring the bar out a little. Bought a wiring harness from one of our members to have Brake lights, running lights and turn signals. SO when I hit the brake and make a turn signal the turnsignal side flashes on ione side and the brake light is still on on the other side. Really bright and looks good in my eyes. http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Light%20bar/led-tail-brake-turn-light-bar-TLB-R11_size600_zps3c2b0619.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Light%20bar/2Lightbar_zpsf0414a16.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Light%20bar/1Lightbar_zpsa4b03587.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Light%20bar/SAM_2269_zps2863a5f9.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Light%20bar/7Lightbar_zpsd4bb7a65.jpg
friesman Posted September 28, 2014 #9 Posted September 28, 2014 Here is the one I bought, It came with all of the spacers, nuts bolts and the exact directions on how to hook it up on my Venture. It was easy, I did the install at PIP in about 10 minutes with a screwdriver and pliers. It really lights up the back now!!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-LED-Brake-Running-Light-Bar-/231272274949?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35d8e6dc05#ht_1211wt_925
djh3 Posted September 29, 2014 #10 Posted September 29, 2014 Before Steve started making his or I knew he made his anyways I use like just a piece of 1/4" ID alum tube from home depot. I polished it up with chrome polish and installed some longer screws as the one picture shows. Steves plug makes it a whole bunch easier even if you buy the light bar elsewhere, I bet he can make you a plug and you can connect the wires up. Much better then the scotch lock deals. yuck

Did you have to run the wiring thru a 5 to 4 isolator/convertor??
M61A1MECH Posted September 29, 2014 #12 Posted September 29, 2014 Jack, Jonas (StarFan) purchased two harnesses that go to my run/turn/brake light bars from me, one for his bike and one for a friend, for use with the light bar he had already purchased. My harness that goes with the run/turn/brake light bar is similar to a 4 to 5 wire convertor. I thought you bought a couple of those from me.
Mike G in SC Posted September 29, 2014 #13 Posted September 29, 2014 Buy Steve's! His wiring worked great with mine (which already had other stuff wired in).
syscrusher Posted September 29, 2014 #14 Posted September 29, 2014 (edited) That's a pretty effective looking signal array! And I picked up one of your plug and play light bars too... , but alas I haven't installed anything yet. Since my wife passed my 'Honey Do's' are worse than ever.... I think she's getting even....

Yes, I bought the harnesses from Steve. What a great product and it is a simple plug and play thingie. Before getting Steve´s harness I had the light bar hooked up with only running and brake lights - no turn signals. Was frustrated since I wanted the whole package so to speak. Wrote a short message on the forum and Steve replied immediately and told me about his harness. He went out of his way to ship this to me as fast as possible and gave me all and every information needed as well as explaining how his harness works (still I don´t have a clue about how this works but don´t need to - IT WORKS Am at the moment installing the bar and the harness to my friends bike. Thanks again Steve for your great product and your helpfulness
