CrazyHorse Posted March 18, 2008 #1 Posted March 18, 2008 Anyone try one of these HID retrofit light kits? Good, Bad, OK? Any comments?
sarges46 Posted March 18, 2008 #2 Posted March 18, 2008 web bike world did a write up on these recently. Seems like one was good and the other not so good. http://www.webbikeworld.com/lights/hid-light/motorcycle-hid-light-conversion/
Condor Posted March 18, 2008 #3 Posted March 18, 2008 Anyone try one of these HID retrofit light kits? Good, Bad, OK? Any comments? I seen a couple of members mentiion that they've replaced their headlight with one a little brighter. Sounded something like a 'hotshot' which is probably a standard bulb with a bit more wattage. But I think because of the price not many are going to pony up the bucks for one of the HID retro systems.... I found a couple of kits listed and sorta got sticker shock....
KiteSquid Posted March 18, 2008 #4 Posted March 18, 2008 I would recommend that you NOT put a HID in a standard lamp housing. If you can find a HID with a 7" reflector I might try it, but the price would probably be quite prohibitive. I put a PIAA’s Intense White bulb in the factory housing and am quite happy, and my wallet is a lot thicker than if I bought a HID back fit kit.
Squeeze Posted March 18, 2008 #5 Posted March 18, 2008 I've mounted a Bi-Xenon HID on my Max, Venture's will get it as soon as my Max is off the Lifter. I love it. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11930&highlight=xenon

Maybe I'll do what Condor said different bulb.
