Condor Posted September 16, 2014 #1 Posted September 16, 2014 This has been going on for a while now. When I click on the thumbnail pic posted by a member, or myself for that matter. The pic will not appear. All I get is a black frame and a rotating circle. Won't work. Now here's the kicker. When I open the pic in the new tab feature it works fine, and then when I go back to view the thumbnail it works too. Even on my own posts??? Go figure. To view a multi-thumbnail I have to do the tab dance for all of them, and then the thumbnails will work. Haven't got a clue....
bongobobny Posted September 16, 2014 #2 Posted September 16, 2014 I've had that happen once in a while too...

Been going on since at least the last update. Never said anything cuz I figured it was just me. Glad TO see I'm mot alone. Or is it just us old guys?????
Yammer Dan Posted September 16, 2014 #4 Posted September 16, 2014 WE just don't want you to know!!!! Must not want me to know either...
Venturous Randy Posted September 16, 2014 #6 Posted September 16, 2014 I thought I was the only one having this problem. For a single picture, I just click on it several times and for a row of pictures, I do the back and forth dance on next and previous. Sometimes it will skip a picture. I am having so many problems with my laptop that I just figured this was just part of it. RandyA
oldgoat Posted September 16, 2014 #8 Posted September 16, 2014 ok I see I am not alone on this. sometimes if I start with the last picture I can then go backwards and see all the pictures?
Freebird Posted September 16, 2014 #9 Posted September 16, 2014 How many of you who are having the problem are using Internet Explorer? The only thing I've been able to find out so far is that IE has a bug that causes this problem. I did just make a small change but I don't think it will solve the problem. Let me know.
cowpuc Posted September 16, 2014 #10 Posted September 16, 2014 I know I was having some of those same issues a while back.. Resetting Firefox (my browser) seemed to help a lot.. The member here who explained how to reset Firefox mentioned that IE can also be reset, I think:whistling:.. Also, cleaning out your temporary files (cache) would probably help too.. I think that increases the amount of Memory accessible which is where those pictures are probably being loaded to.. I am guessing at this,, lets see if some puter wiz will come on now and verify my understandings here...
Peder_y2k Posted September 16, 2014 #11 Posted September 16, 2014 I use google Chrome with no poblems or hiccups. Quit with IE long ago. -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA

vzuden Posted September 17, 2014 #17 Posted September 17, 2014 Safari at home and Chrome at work - no problems
Condor Posted September 17, 2014 Author #18 Posted September 17, 2014 Safari at home and Chrome at work - no problems I guess it's a compatibility problem with IE. Just tried Chrome and had no issues. Just thought it was strange since VR.org is the only site I've ever had a problem with thumbnails....??
friesman Posted September 17, 2014 #19 Posted September 17, 2014 same issue with IE , I just click next, next next, on the pics until I get back to the beginning pic and the 2nd time thru the pics show up fine. Brian
Condor Posted September 17, 2014 Author #20 Posted September 17, 2014 same issue with IE , I just click next, next next, on the pics until I get back to the beginning pic and the 2nd time thru the pics show up fine. Brian I'll have to give that a try.... Thanks Brian...
Wizard765 Posted September 17, 2014 #21 Posted September 17, 2014 I was having this problem (still do on IE) and switched to Firefox. The interface is more similar to IE than Chrome but both work just fine..
Flyinfool Posted September 17, 2014 #22 Posted September 17, 2014 A few years ago I was having that issue only on my puter at work. It was happening on all websites. My home puters were just fine. Once the company upgraded to a faster internet connection and installed new anti virus software, the issue went away. So I do not know if it was some maleware that was on my puter that the new AV software fixed or if it was the faster internet connection that did it.
