window 7 com port

well cant open my ignitec. the 7 computer don't have com settings. so ign files wont download or upload. my xp died

Ignitech has an alternative to using a com port:

 

you need the apply a USB to RS232 adapter which we can supply.

 

I found that statement in the online manual:

Online shows that they are sold by Staples (and I'm sure others)

I have that adapter. but program needs com setting to open and read

If you install the adapter driver it should give you the com ports you are looking for. Also check Device Manager then Ports COM&LPT. You should see the Com ports there.
