MasterGuns Posted September 9, 2014 #3 Posted September 9, 2014 Have you downloaded the device drivers from the Sabent website? Without these drivers your computer will connect via any com port.
syscrusher Posted September 9, 2014 #4 Posted September 9, 2014 haven't changed any settings in my v88. since I moved up to windows 7. cant get past com opening as newer computer don't have this setting. anyone now how to trick box or computer. want to change rev limit and check other settings I don't know for sure but a lot of people here seem to like using seafoam.
dingy Posted September 9, 2014 #5 Posted September 9, 2014 Attached is a PDF file with instructions on settings for Com port. I have only seen (that I recall) issues with XP and windows 8. Windows 7 seems to find cable OK. There is a setting in menus to tell software to look at all available com ports and find an open one. Call me if you need help, evenings are best. Gary
rbig1 Posted September 10, 2014 Author #6 Posted September 10, 2014 well got computer to talk to bike and got my settings changed like I wanted. the virus protection was stopping computer from updating usb ports. then I synked carbs. carb tune is the way to go. now after running for about 5min slows down and dies. then fuel pump turns on pumps fuel back up. the only time pump has power is when first turned on and after engine dies. no power going to it while running. is this the way it should work. I would think it would run the whole time bike is running. and this is the best it ever sounded since brought back in service. and I cant tale any difference in jet screw positions. kind of sluggish between 2500 and 3000 may have to change curve setting. rod
rbig1 Posted September 10, 2014 Author #7 Posted September 10, 2014 I don't know for sure but a lot of people here seem to like using seafoam. I don't think I could drink any more getting pretty full of it. blue flames out back.
frankd Posted September 11, 2014 #8 Posted September 11, 2014 Yes, the fuel pump should have voltage applied to it whenever the bike is running.
