Skid Posted September 9, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 9, 2014 Can you get into the air boxes without removing the lower fairing or any other parts?
Condor Posted September 9, 2014 Share #2 Posted September 9, 2014 Gotta remove the fairings to get to the front screws. I imagine it could be done, but it's a PITA... Besides it's not that hard, and makes life so much easier...
eusa1 Posted September 9, 2014 Share #3 Posted September 9, 2014 loosen the clamp at the back of the air boxes to hose, then take 1 10 mm bolt out above and below air box and take the entire boxes to the bench to remove 6 screws from each
djh3 Posted September 9, 2014 Share #4 Posted September 9, 2014 I use the long phillips screw driver for adjusting carbs, and loosen the clamp at back connecting to tube. then it's 2 10mm bolts as mentioned. one you can go pretty straight inot get, the other I have to use a universal on. There is more screws holding the box's together than there is to get them off.
ACE50 Posted September 9, 2014 Share #5 Posted September 9, 2014 I've never taken the lower fairings to remove air boxes. Many times. Flex extension for front 10mm. No problem at all.
eusa1 Posted September 9, 2014 Share #6 Posted September 9, 2014 yes 2, as stated 1 above and 1 below air box or would that be 4 counting both sides?
