Tisunac Posted September 5, 2014 #1 Posted September 5, 2014 I need to replace my rectifier (2nd gen) and would like to get the best one. Any suggestions where to get one? And also how they differ - I can see them (brand new) from $27 to $90 and more. The description and the look is about the same...... Thank you.
Brake Pad Posted September 5, 2014 #2 Posted September 5, 2014 I think I got my last one from clutch field . I paid $57.00 for it
etcswjoe Posted September 5, 2014 #3 Posted September 5, 2014 I have had bad luck with numerous aftermarket ones and keep going back to the OEM myself. There is the Shindengen regulator that requires you to do some rewiring and it is supposed to be good but I have not tried it myself.
Wizard765 Posted September 5, 2014 #4 Posted September 5, 2014 Rick's makes a good stator and I would guess his regulator would be good as well..
bongobobny Posted September 5, 2014 #5 Posted September 5, 2014 Stay away from the cheap Chinese ones!!!!!
Tisunac Posted September 5, 2014 Author #6 Posted September 5, 2014 Rick's makes a good stator and I would guess his regulator would be good as well.. Maybe an ignorant question but.... who is Rick? And yea, I'm definitely trying to stay away from the junk ones.
Tisunac Posted September 5, 2014 Author #7 Posted September 5, 2014 I think I got my last one from clutch field . I paid $57.00 for it I've googled "clutch field" and nothing came up..... Do you have their address or something? Thank you.
etcswjoe Posted September 5, 2014 #8 Posted September 5, 2014 Maybe an ignorant question but.... who is Rick? And yea, I'm definitely trying to stay away from the junk ones. Rick's Power sports you can get them from J&P, Dennis Kirk etc....
Tisunac Posted September 5, 2014 Author #9 Posted September 5, 2014 Thank you guys. Just ordered it from Rick's Power Sport. Great customer service (so far). Should have it by Tuesday. And then we'll see if I need a stator, too. It looks like it's working but we'll see how well, once we put a new rectifier. Thanks again. You guys are great!...
Kregerdoodle Posted September 5, 2014 #10 Posted September 5, 2014 Question..... Are the rectifier and regulator the same thing?? I think mine is toast, but just got a new battery today and have some more testing to do before I start dumping cash.. Thanks,

Thanks, Yes the rectifier and regulator are built into the same housing and are replaced as a unit.

Dano Posted September 5, 2014 #13 Posted September 5, 2014 Shindegans that was put on the first gens back when I handled the group buy ($75 each!) were great, installed them in the left fairing to keep 'em cool,,,,,need to find such a good air-flowing area on the 2nd gens to put them.....
