I need to replace my rectifier (2nd gen) and would like to get the best one. Any suggestions where to get one? And also how they differ - I can see them (brand new) from $27 to $90 and more. The description and the look is about the same...... Thank you.

I have had bad luck with numerous aftermarket ones and keep going back to the OEM myself. There is the Shindengen regulator that requires you to do some rewiring and it is supposed to be good but I have not tried it myself.

Rick's makes a good stator and I would guess his regulator would be good as well..

Maybe an ignorant question but.... who is Rick?

And yea, I'm definitely trying to stay away from the junk ones.

I think I got my last one from clutch field . I paid $57.00 for it

I've googled "clutch field" and nothing came up..... Do you have their address or something? Thank you.

Thank you guys. Just ordered it from Rick's Power Sport. Great customer service (so far). Should have it by Tuesday. And then we'll see if I need a stator, too. It looks like it's working but we'll see how well, once we put a new rectifier.

Thanks again. You guys are great!...

Question..... Are the rectifier and regulator the same thing?? I think mine is toast, but just got a new battery today and have some more testing to do before I start dumping cash..

Thanks,

Yes the rectifier and regulator are built into the same housing and are replaced as a unit.

Shindegans that was put on the first gens back when I handled the group buy ($75 each!) were great, installed them in the left fairing to keep 'em cool,,,,,need to find such a good air-flowing area on the 2nd gens to put them.....
