Wizard765 Posted September 4, 2014 #1 Posted September 4, 2014 I don't know how many here have experienced this but it is NOT fun.. After a very nice Wednesday night ride with MarCarl I headed home and checked the site and mail etc.. Started feeling some pain in my side but at first thought it was the way I was sitting. The pain got worse and worse and came in waves until the point where on a bad wave I started heaving. Didn't really bring anything up but went through the motions.. After this the pain would subside from a 10+ down to a manageable 4 or 5. Once a wave hit I actually started looking forward to the heaves because after that the pain would start to reduce. My wife who was asleep woke up and started asking me if I wanted to go to emerg but I was thinking Gas and was hoping it would pass. Nope not a chance. It just kept getting worse and I could not handle it any more so she called for an ambulance and off to the hospital I go. Spent the rest of the nite passing a Kidney Stone.. Sure hope this never happens again and also hope none of you have to experience it. Worst pain I have ever had.. Now sitting here in somewhat of a Daze due to lack of sleep and a dull ache in the side (around a 3) Got so much to do but don't feel up to it at all.. So for those of you so inclined a prayer would be appreciated.. Wayne
Hummingbird Posted September 4, 2014 #2 Posted September 4, 2014 Wayne, you my sympathies and prayers I have yet to experience that part of life and I'm pretty darn sure I don't want to.
T.J. Posted September 4, 2014 #3 Posted September 4, 2014 I know the pain. I have passed 3 of those little stones in my life time. Not fun at all. I hope you are good to go for now.
Peder_y2k Posted September 4, 2014 #4 Posted September 4, 2014 You got it.............and thanks for the preview. Passing stones is very common, but not happened to me........yet. -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA
Flyinfool Posted September 4, 2014 #5 Posted September 4, 2014 At least the stone is now passed. Hoping you feel better real quick.
Gary N. Posted September 4, 2014 #6 Posted September 4, 2014 Reading your description I was thinking gull bladder. Very similar. Pain so bad I passed out. Good luck and hope that's your last experience with it.
The Tooch Posted September 4, 2014 #7 Posted September 4, 2014 Well if you went ride'n with Carl of course you picked up a stone. All those gravel roads he'd have you on! Seriously, I hope you feel better Wayne and don't have to go through that again. Don't worry about things you think you have to do, what you have to do is just recover by resting and taking it easy for awhile.
etcswjoe Posted September 4, 2014 #8 Posted September 4, 2014 Glad it passed quick for you my last one was a couple of weeks ordeal. They told me to cut down on the caffeine and drink more water.
Oldseadog Posted September 4, 2014 #9 Posted September 4, 2014 A prayer is sent for a quick recovery. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Kirby Posted September 4, 2014 #10 Posted September 4, 2014 I remember the words of a past President who said "I feel your pain." I've had several and people always told me that this is the nearest thing to childbearing the a man will ever feel. I believe it!!! My Moma when she was 75 years old told me once that if she had to make a choice at her age to either have another child or a kidney stone, she would have another child !!! Brother, I truly do Feel your pain!!!
Evan Posted September 4, 2014 #11 Posted September 4, 2014 Prayers for sure. Been there twice. I suspected what was happening right away the second time around. Been told it is the men's version of giving birth, but can't confirm that. The good news is that you passed a stone. Hopefully, no more to come this time.
cecdoo Posted September 4, 2014 #12 Posted September 4, 2014 Been there and I can vouch for the pain, I never felt anything like it:yikes: To this day I keep pain meds close by, just in case. Hard to believe those little things can cause so much pain! Craig
XV1100SE Posted September 4, 2014 #13 Posted September 4, 2014 At least the worst is over. Hope you feel better quickly !
