I have a 96 royal star. I can't get the spark plugs out. I have a 5/8 plug socket with a swivel connecting an extension to the wratchet. Husky socket set. Do I need a thin socket? What I'm using is made for plugs

Thanks for any ideas. Rick

If you are using a swivel I am guessing you are removing the plugs with the fuel tank in place? If so, it may help to pull the tank first to make it easier

Yes I believe you need a thin wall socket. I dont think I can get a standard socket on mine either. Its been a while since I changed plugs so memory is a bit foggy.

My Craftsman standard 6 point 18mm deep 3/8 drive socket works well also.

Your 5/8 plug socket is equivalent to just under 16mm, so it can not possibly work on an 18mm plug.:whistling:
