Prairiehammer Posted September 4, 2014 #1 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) Just snagged four OEM spark plug wires AND OEM plug caps for 99 cents! I think that the wires are all the same part number (front plugs), but for $0.99, I can make them work. The plug caps appear to be for a V-Star, but again, I'll not worry. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Plug-Wire-Set-For-1200-and-1300-Yamaha-Venture-Royale-/191308084470?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&autorefresh=true&nma=true&si=LF1zC83fMPDd65sA3x%252F8JlSFoOo%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Edited September 7, 2014 by Prairiehammer
Snaggletooth Posted September 4, 2014 #2 Posted September 4, 2014 Not bad Kevin!! All I ever got for $.99 off eBay was a complete used wiring loom. BUT...... when I got it it had every plug in module from the bike still attached including the TCI. That didn't show in the pics. LOL. Nice to catch a gem once in a while.
Venturous Randy Posted September 4, 2014 #3 Posted September 4, 2014 Hey, I just received an MKII TCI in the mail that I won for $10.50 off ebay. I took the cover off and it looked very good inside. I took it out to the garage and plugged it up to the bike after swapping vacuum hoses around and it started up perfectly and the bike sounds great. WAHOO. :cool10::cool10: RandyA
Prairiehammer Posted September 4, 2014 Author #4 Posted September 4, 2014 Sweet! So you got a '41R' TCI and you mounted it onto your '83 (after changing the vacuum pick-up point)?

Condor Posted September 5, 2014 #7 Posted September 5, 2014 Was the shipping free.... ?? And you know the reason I'm asking....
Prairiehammer Posted September 5, 2014 Author #8 Posted September 5, 2014 Was the shipping free.... ?? And you know the reason I'm asking.... No, the shipping wasn't free, but only $5.95. And no, I don't know why you are asking.
Condor Posted September 5, 2014 #9 Posted September 5, 2014 No, the shipping wasn't free, but only $5.95. And no, I don't know why you are asking. In the eBay world I see a lot of items selling for a buck with $20 shipping fee's. Your is still gloat-able at $7 bucks. Most eBayer's are aware of loading up the shipping practice, but my apologies for not being more enlightening....

Yeah, I suspected you may be alluding to the inflated shipping charges for 'cheap' items, but I thought you could see the entire transaction cost, including the nominal shipping charge, when I included the link. I am not a novice when it comes to eBay, having participated in more than 620 transactions since April 1999.

I've been on since '98 and 660 transactions. I used to sell, but haven't for years. Just
Freebird Posted September 6, 2014 #12 Posted September 6, 2014 I don't think you see that as often as you once did. I think that Ebay started charging for the total, item plus shipping, when calculating final value fees to put an end to that nonsense.

Yammer Dan Posted September 6, 2014 #14 Posted September 6, 2014 I got a Garage full of Gloat-able items but they are getting hard to catch.

What is your best eBay score that you can think of, and Gloat about it here.... Whatcha all think?? I discovered a complete set of nearly new Venture carbs for $25 less $6.85 in eBay Bucks for a grand total $18.15 plus shipping of $11. These carbs still had the inked part number on them (26H) and the factory installed anti-tamper pilot screw plugs. I opened up the bowls and there appears to never had fuel in them. Yet, they had never been cleaned, because the inked '26H on the bowls is washed away as soon as the carbs are cleaned. I found these carbs outside of the normal eBay Motors venue. The seller had listed them as 'Mikuni carb' and mentioned the '26H' in the description (that's how I found them), but did not know what the carbs were for. I was the only bidder.

I picked up an as new Nolan 103 NCom Helmet in my size with the Bluetooth headset installed for a 'Buy It Now' of $75 bucks with free shipping. The guy had worn it once, and he had all the docs to go along with it. Almost broke my arm hitting the bin button. Anyone else??

mraf Posted September 8, 2014 #20 Posted September 8, 2014 Can you still find them?? or most of them.... Believe it or not I still have them all. They are never all hanging on the wall all at once but occasionally they take turns hanging up.
mraf Posted September 8, 2014 #21 Posted September 8, 2014 Condor,I gotta ask, are all seven of those ventures in your avatar on the road?
Condor Posted September 8, 2014 #22 Posted September 8, 2014 Condor,I gotta ask, are all seven of those ventures in your avatar on the road? Actually 5 of them are.... Been thinking about parting out the '93, but haven't totally made up my mind yet.
