mini-muffin Posted March 17, 2008 #1 Posted March 17, 2008 An Irish Blessing: May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun. And find your shoulder to light on. To bring you luck, happiness and riches. Today, tomorrow and beyond. An Irish Toast for later while your drinking your Guinness When we drink, we get drunk. When we get drunk, we fall asleep. When we fall asleep, we commit no sin. When we commit no sin, we go to heaven. So, let's all get drunk, and go to heaven! Hope you have a great St. Patricks Day! Margaret

Sailor Posted March 18, 2008 #6 Posted March 18, 2008 The Butlers ruled Ireland for many years. There was a blood oath that a Fitsgerald or a Butler (aka Fitzwalter) had to kill the other on sight. Fitzwalter was the family and Butler was the office which ruled. The family ruled for many years (after many bloody battles) and took the name of the office, "May you be an hour in heaven before the devil finds you are dead."
