well rebuilt carbs measured spring height at screws. that was a waste of time two of the motion pro gauges went clear to the top if not farther had to pull hose off quick. changed settings now other side doing it. think I killed the third tube as fluid wont go back down all the way. I have never done this before. in the diesel industry just used a single monometer. and foreign cars used a variable venture with plastic tube. any one have a carb tune to sell or want to help. cant take bike anywhere though. also need to adjust mixture screws. im stuck

To get into the ball park when synching the carbs, observe the throttle butterflies and get all four to close together upon a small wire gage. Back off the idle speed screw until #2 is just touching the wire gage. Then, mechanically synch the others by adjusting them to the same wire gage. The idea is to get all the butterflies to be identically opened mechanically, enabling fine tuning with the manometer.

The objective for synchronizing is to obtain equal airflow thru all the carbs. I've thought that if I didn't already have a manometer, I could use a small diameter wire as a 'feeler' guage and set each carb throttle valve the same. The multi carb linkage is designed to move the throttle valves the same, so the system just needs a good starting point. The wire (or each wire - one in each carb) could be slipped down the throat and pinched between the valve and throat, and when each linkage screw is adjusted to where all the wires have the same 'pull/slip-friction', the carbs are then pretty close to being 'equal'. Follow the synch order outlined in the manual.

If you're using a Motion Pro Sync-Pro replace it. The tool works great on carburetors that are very close to being synced. If they're out even a little bit it will suck the fluid out of one.

I used one for awhile in the shop. Then I put it on a bike that was a bit out and sucked a column or two dry. I got the repair kit but it's never been right since.

I went back to my dial gauges.

tz89 would like to make one but now would be a bad time. probably blow a gasket. lol
