What would you do?

I found some parts for my car from a member of the porsche owners club.I called Friday and made arrangements to pick them up today.i called last night to confirm our meeting today.Well this morning I headed out to Georgia.Got there 30 minutes early so I had a quick lunck.I called the member and got voice mail.I called again in 15 minutes and got voice mail.I drove to the house but no one home.I called 3 more times and 3 more visits to the house and no one home.After one and half hours I headed home.250 miles each way and the temperature was 98 and I never use AC,$100 for gas and lunch and a long hot day.just curious how some of you would have handled this.I do know things happen beyond our control and I am not mad or anything.If they ever contact me would it be asking too much for them to deliver the parts to me.

Last time something like this happened to me I got a text from the guys girlfriend after I got home saying he had been arrested. If they are not extraordinary circumstances I would ask him to bring the parts to you.

I always call before I leave, if I can't get ahold of them and it's a long haul, better to not waste that time. I have to say that many folks do not appreciate others time. Not really any recourse you have, you can ask for them to deliver, but I wouldn't be holding my breath....

When he answers, just let it all out..cuss at him in words he hasn't heard in a while, Stop nothing short of demanding he bring you the parts and that he brings them "TOMORROW"...and make darn sure you tell him you want reimbursed for the gas money you wasted.

Because sadly this situation has happened to me in the past, I would be reluctant to go if I can't reach the guy. Of course he may be with his kid at the park, or tinkering, or maybe something more serious. That said, anyone with a blatant disregard of my time, rarely gets another opportunity... If he does calls, explain you would love to complete the transaction however, he will have to make the trip to you. If he is SINCERE about it, he shouldn't balk. My 0.02

What really frustrates me in stuff like you are going thru is that this place (VR) has me spoiled.. I get lulled into thinking what we have going on here is the "norm" for internet sites and THAT can get a person into trouble.....

The parts was 4 tires and wheels for my Porsche and the price was free just come and pick them up, With that being said the price of the gas and the time there and back was worth it if I had received the parts.I don't know if I would make another trip for them but if I was anywhere near fhe area again I would probably drop by and pick them up.maybe they will still be available next year during Vogle then I could justify the few extra miles to Alpharetta and get them.LOL
